Peter, 30, weighed in at a cut up 241, which is four pounds heavier than in his last fight against Nagy Aguilera in March. However, Peter looks much more muscular than he was for that fight, so you have to figure that Peter has been working harder and putting on more size for his fight against the 6’6” Klitschko.

Peter’s manager thinks Wladimir is worried about this Saturday’s fight

Image: Peter’s manager thinks Wladimir is worried about this Saturday’s fightBy Dave Lahr: This Saturday night, IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitsxchko (54-3, 48 KO’s) faces his most dangerous opponent in the past five years when he fights former World Boxing Council heavyweight champion Samuel Peter (34-3, 27 KO’s) in a 12 round bout at the Commerzbank-Arena, in Frankfurt, Germany. Although the 34-year-old Klitschko has been acting uncharacteristically confident in the press conferences with Peter leading up to the fight, Peter’s manager Ivalylo Gotzev thinks Wladimir is trying to disguise his fear, saying “He’s definitely uptight. I’ve known Wladimir for 15 years and he’s starting to realize who will be in the other corner come Saturday night. That’s why he’s not himself this week. He’s already having cold and sweaty Nigerian Nightmares.”

Wladimir Klitschko doesn’t have any tricks to beat Samuel Peter this time

Image: Wladimir Klitschko doesn’t have any tricks to beat Samuel Peter this timeBy Dave Lahr: On September 11th, IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 48 KO’s) and Samuel Peter (34-3, 27 KO’s) will be fighting in a long awaited rematch in Germany. If you saw the last bout five years ago between Wladimir Klitschko and Peter, you’ll notice that Wladimir used two techniques to beat Peter in that fight – movement and clinching. The referee allowed Wladimir to get away with some really god awful clinching in every round. I usually lost count after 10 clinches per round.

Image: Steward says Wladimir will knock Peter out with his missles early in the fightBy Dave Lahr: Emanuel Steward, the trainer for IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 48 KO’s), says Klitschko will come out fast in the fight throwing power shots on September 11th against challenger Samuel Peter (34-3, 27 KO’s). But Wladimir has the power to knock out anyone with either hand. So in this fight with Peter, the way that the emotions are building, he [Klitschko] will unleash his missiles earlier than normal.

Image: Steward predicting knockout win for Wladimir Klitschko in "Five or Six rounds" against Peterby Dave Lahr: Emanuel Steward, the trainer for IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 48 KO’s), may be whistling past the graveyard as he came out today with a bold knockout prediction for Wladimir against former WBC heavyweight champion Samuel Peter (34-3, 27 KO’s) in their bout on September 11th at the Commerzbank-Arena, Frankfurt, Hessen, Germany. In the media conference call today, Steward said “I see a knockout in five or six rounds, and that’s stretching it.” I agree with Steward. I see a knockout in the 5th or 6th rounds as well, but I see the 29-year-old Peter being the one doing the knocking out and not Wladimir.

Klitschko-Peter: Samuel always does well against weak-chinned fighters

By Dave Lahr: Former WBC heavyweight champion Samuel Peter (34-3, 27 KO’s) has always done remarably well when facing weak-chinned fighters like IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (54-3, 48 KO’s). In fact, Peter is almost unbeatable when facing a fighter with a soft chin. The only loss that Peter suffered to a weak-chinned fighter was to none other than Wladimir Klitschko back in 2005. But in that fight, Peter probably would have won the bout had the referee had limited Wladimir’s excessive clinching to a minimum of 5 per round. Instead, Wladimir was able to clinch nearly 24/7 in that fight and that was a big factor in keeping Peter from getting his shots off like he wanted to.
