By Erhan Bora: Anyone who is familiar with Tyson Fury’s (24-0, 18 KOs) social media knows to take what he says with a pinch of salt. Although he claims to be a man of his word in most of his interviews and has tweeted that he will quit the boxing game if he fails to overcome IBF, WBO, WBA world heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs). Tyson has many critics within the sport, even some of the most popular YouTubers frequently criticize him, and has many doubters among the fans. What chance does Tyson Fury have in beating the favorite who himself is aiming to beat Joe Louis’ title defense record.
In reviewing his track record, Fury has yet to face a real top contender although the same could be said for Wladimir. In his lost track record he has arguably fought the best around but the division had been going through an awful dry spell, and the only real good heavyweight I picked out was Alexander Povetkin, who Wladimir dealt with in some style.
By Scott Gilfoid: Former light heavyweight world champion Antonio Tarver is giving #1 WBO contender Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) absolutely no chance at all of beating IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight world champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) in their fight on October 24th at the ESPRIT arena, Düsseldorf, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. Tarver notes that Klitschko isn’t the same fighter that he once was, but he still sees him as way too good for the likes of Tyson Fury.
It’s hard to disagree with Tarver about Klitschko being too good, because even though he’s starting to look like a shot fighter at 39, he can still pack a big punch and move really well around the ring. There’s nothing wrong with Wladimir’s punching power, his excellent jab and his mobility.
By Scott Gilfoid: If there’s going to be a knockout in the October 24th clash between the giant heavyweights IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) and Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs), it’s assumed that it’ll be Wladimir doing the knockout when these guys start dropping bombs on each other three months from now at the Esprit Arena in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Wladimir is the much bigger puncher with either hand, and the guy with the faster hand speed, even now at 39-years-old. But interestingly enough, Fury’s trainer Peter Fury believes that it’s going to be his fighter Tyson Fury who will be the one scoring the knockout in this fight.
By Scott Gilfoid: IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) sees Britain’s Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) as being a big mouth like former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye, who Wladimir defeated with ease four years ago in 2011.
Haye talked a good game before the fight, but then he failed to produce in the ring on the night of the fight, Haye ended up running for 12 rounds in losing a 12 round decision. Like Haye, Wladimir figures Fury to be more of a talker than an actual fighter.
By Scott Gilfoid: Peter Fury, the trainer for unbeaten Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs), says he’s going to be training like never before to get ready for his important title fight against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) on October 24th in Dusseldorf, Germany.
Peter says Tyson has already lost 35 pounds of fat off of his 6’9” frame, and he feels he should be in great shape by the time that the fight takes place in three months from now. The fact that Fury is already taking off weight before training camp has even started suggests that he’s gotten out of shape since his last fight against Christian Hammer several months ago in April.
By Jim Dower: Russian promoter Vlad Hrunov reportedly is protesting the cancellation of Monday’s purse bid for the Wladimir Klitschko vs. Tyson Fury fight. Hrunov had planned on making a huge bid of $18,242,232 to have the Klitschko-Fury fight staged in Russia.
With a bid that size, Hrunov would have had an excellent chance of winning the purse bid to have the fight staged in Russia. According to Fight News, Hrunov says the deal for the fight was reached 24 minutes after the deadline.
By Scott Gilfoid: Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) hasn’t even fought IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) yet, and he’s already looking past him towards a unification bout against WBC heavyweight champ Deontay Wilder (34-0, 33 KOs) for next year.
Talk about your overconfidence. Fury’s promoter Mick Hennessey was able to reach a deal with Klitschko’s promoters at K2 Promotions earlier today minutes before the fight was set to go to purse bids in Panama.
By Scott Gilfoid: After complaining night and day for eons about wanting to get his big fight against IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs), Britain’s Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs) has his fight now scheduled against the Ukrainian on October 24th at the Düsseldorf, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany.
It’s too bad that Fury is now going to have to actually try and produce in the ring rather than talking trash, because he’s really up against it in this fight. This is already looking like a mismatch of epic proportions unless Wladimir gets old overnight by October 24th.
By Scott Gilfoid: In what has to be construed as bad news for unbeaten #1 WBO contender Tyson Fury (24-0, 18 KOs), his promoters at Hennessy Sports came to an agreement with K2 Promotions today, the promoters for IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs) for a fight that will be taking place a little over three months from now on October 24th in Dusseldorf, Germany.
The agreement between K2 Promotions and Hennessey Sports means the purse bid that was scheduled for Monday has now been canceled. This doesn’t work out well for the 26-year-old Fury because if it had gone to a purse bid, there was a chance that one of the British promoters like Eddie Hearn from Matchroom Sport would have won the bid, and then scheduled the fight to take place in the UK.
