Are Boxers Getting title Shots Without Working for Them?

haye2344543242By Stuart Gant: I am and have been for a long time a huge boxing fan, enjoying not only the big boxing matches but also the lower level bouts, however even I can’t avoid the issue of certain boxers getting title shots or big bouts when many would say they didn’t deserve it.

There are many examples of this but one I would definitely use would be the British newly crowned WBA light-welterweight champion, Amir Khan.

Is Khan the Most Protected Fighter In Boxing?

By Scott Gilfoid: Thus far Amir Khan has yet to rehabilitate himself since losing a 1st round knockout at the hands of Breidis Prescott last September. Naturally, there hasn’t been a rematch with the Colombian Prescott, and I doubt there ever will. That would seem like the logical thing for Khan to do. It probably won’t ever happen unless Prescott starts getting knocked out every fight all of a sudden.

Khan’s Victory Over Kotelnik Proves Little

By Scott Gilfoid: While it’s nice that Amir Khan’s chin was able to hold together long enough for him to beat World Boxing Association light welterweight champion Andriy Kotelnik last weekend by a 12-round decision, let’s not get things twisted and make more out of what Khan accomplished that what he did. This was, after all, a handpicked opponent that Khan went after and not a dangerous puncher.

Khan vs. Kotelnik on Saturday Night – Boxing News

At first glance, it’s difficult to see how Khan deserves to be fighting for a world title because he’s yet to beat a quality fighter that wasn’t somehow cut up or just plain old, like in the case of his one victory over the hand picked 35-year-old Marco Antonio Barrera.
