Wladimir to attend Joshua-Whyte fight

wladimirBy Scott Gilfoid: IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko says he may come to England on December 12th to watch the grudge match between unbeaten heavyweights Anthony Joshua (14-0, 14 KOs) and Dillian Whyte (16-0, 13 KOs) at the O2 Arena in London.

Wladimir thinks it’s a great match-up between these two fighters, and he thinks it’ll be really entertaining to watch. Wladimir says he rarely goes to see fights live, but in this case he’s going to make an exception to come over and watch it take place.

Quigg vs. Donaire not happening

donaure52By Allan Fox: Former four division world champion Nonito Donaire and WBA “regular super bantamweight champion Scott Quigg won’t be fighting after all. Donaire’s wife says that Quigg and his promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport haven’t signed the contract for the fight. She doesn’t understand why they failed to sign. It’s unclear what direction Donaire will go in next. He’s one of the top super bantamweights in the division.

He might be better off going for the WBC belt. Donaire was already beaten by WBA/WBO super bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux in 2013, and he appears to have Donaire’s number. There’s no point in Donaire fighting him again unless he’s feeling brave and willing to potentially get beaten again.

Hearn brags about Joshua’s ability to finish off opponents

hearn56By Scott Gilfoid: Matchroom Sport promoter Eddie Hearn is quite happy right now after his fighter Anthony Joshua’s latest massacre victory over Gary Cornish last Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London, UK. Joshua, ranked #2 by the WBC in the heavyweight division, knocked the amateurish Cornish down twice in the round before the fight was stopped after Cornish clawed his way off the canvas.

Hearn thinks that the 6’6” Joshua is on his way to becoming a mega-star in the sport, and would do the same thing to all the other heavyweights that he did to the 28-year-old Cornish once he gets them hurt.

Joshua vs. Whyte a done deal for December 12th!

whyte555By Scott Gilfoid: With unbeaten heavyweight Dillian Whyte’s impressive 3rd round knockout win over Brian Minto (41-10, 26 KOs) last Saturday night, and Anthony Joshua’s equally exciting 1st round knockout over the 6’7” previously unbeaten Gary Cornish (21-1, 12 KOs) on the same card, Whyte vs. Joshua is now officially set for December 12th at the O2 Arena in London, England. Haye not in the picture for Joshua, says Hearn

haye788By Scott Gilfoid: British heavyweight Anthony Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn says he’s not looking to match the 6’6” Joshua up with former two division world champion David Haye (26-2, 24 KOs) in the near future despite Haye, 34, being interested in that fight.

A fight between Joshua and Haye makes a heck of a lot more sense than what we’ve been seeing from Joshua in terms of opposition. He’s been facing the likes of Gary Cornish, Kevin Johnson and Jason Gavern. Hearn says he’s pointing Joshua in the direction of Dillian Whyte for December 12th, and then Erkan Teper for the EBU heavyweight title, and then finally for a world title against either WBC champion Deontay Wilder or IBF/IBO/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko.

Whyte: I want to finish Joshua once and for all

joshua888By Scott Gilfoid: One of the most talented heavyweights in the UK Dillian Whyte (14-0, 11 KOs) is ready to shut down the Anthony Joshua (13-0, 13 KOs) hype train by stopping him in their fight in November or December. Whyte, 27, has taken a real disliking to Joshua ever since he beat him badly in their fight in 2009.

Initially, Whyte didn’t mind the 6’6” Joshua and felt that he was okay bloke, but after he heard some things that Joshua had been saying about him, he changed opinion about him and now sees Joshua as a snake that he wants to eradicate when he gets him inside the ring for their rematch at the pro level.
