By Allan Fox: Last Saturday night’s card headlined by the welterweight clash between WBA welterweight champion Keith “One Time” Thurman and Shawn Porter brought in tremendous ratings on Showtime Boxing on CBS from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The Thurman vs. Porter main event averaged 3.1 million viewers, according to Dan Rafael. The card itself averaged 2.4 million viewers. Those are tremendous ratings.

Having welterweights as good as Thurman and Porter face each other is a rare thing in the sport nowadays. The fight fans in the U.S saw this fight as an interesting one, so they gladly tuned in to see it. What helped matters is there was a great deal of marketing of the Thurman-Porter fight ahead of time. The fans knew the fight was taking place last Saturday, so the fans tuned in to see it in large numbers.

Haye reacts to Joshua’s win over Breazeale

By Scott Gilfoid: David Haye watched last Saturday’s fight between IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (17-1, 15 KOs) and challenger Dominic Breazeale while working as a commentator for Sky Sports, and he came away from the experience not impressed. Haye, 35, says he saw each and every punch from Joshua, and he could see them coming if he fought him.

Haye thinks he could get out of the way of the 6’6”, 243lb Joshua’s shots each time and limit greatly amount of punches he lands against him. Haye wants to fight Joshua as soon as the 26-year-old is ready to face him.

Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn doesn’t seem to be in nearly the same rush as Haye is to make the fight happen, as he wants to let the match marinate more before giving Joshua the green light. Thus far, Haye has fought twice in his comeback after being out of the ring for three and a half years with injuries and what not.

Anthony Joshua vs. Dominic Breazeale results

By Patrick McHugh: IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (17-0, 17 KOs) won his 17th straight victory on Saturday night in stopping fringe contender #13 IBF Dominic Breazeale (17-1, 15 KOs) in the 7th round at the O2 Arena in London, England.

Joshua dropped Breazeale twice in round seven to get the stoppage. Breazeale, 30, was too hurt to get up after the second knockdown of the round. Breazeale was not happy with the referee attempting to assist him while he was down, as he pushed him away angrily. Referee Howard John Foster stopped the fight officially at 1:01 of the 7th round.

He’s continued that trend into the pro ranks in knocking out the vast majority of his opponents inside four rounds. But for tonight’s fight, Joshua wants to beat challenger Dominic Breazeale (17-0, 15 KOs) mentally before stopping him inside the distance in their bout at the O2 Arena in London, UK.

Does this mean that the 26-year-old Joshua will try to actually box Breazeale rather than using his normal approach of steamrolling his over-matched opposition? We’ll have to find out tonight.

By Scott Gilfoid: IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (16-0, 16 KOs) weighed in at his lightest weight in two years in weighing in at 243 ¼ pounds at Friday’s weigh-in for his title defense on Saturday night against unbeaten #13 IBF challenger Dominic Breazeale (17-0, 15 KOs) at the O2 Arena in London, England.

For his part, Breazeale weighed in at 255 pounds, which is slightly heavier than the 252 ¾ pounds he came in for his last bout against Amir Mansour last January. Breazeale will be sporting a 12 pound weight and a one inch height advantage over Joshua when the two of them get inside the ring on Saturday night at the O2 Arena.

Wilder, 6’7”, already said this week that he would like to fight Joshua this year in October or November if he wins his fight against the American talent Dominic Breazeale (17-0, 15 KOs) this Saturday night at the O2 Arena in London, UK.

Joshua is a heavy favorite to defeat the 6’7” Breazeale. However, Deontay sees the contest as a 50-50 fight, because he thinks Breazeale is going to come into the match looking to make a name for himself.

This is Breazeale’s big chance to make a fortune becoming set for life financially if he can beat Joshua, because a win over the British fighter will set up a big money rematch between them. Breazeale could make millions in a rematch.

Breazeale says he’s going to knockout the 26-year-old Joshua, and he’s very confident he’ll be able to do that in their fight at the O2 Arena in London, UK. Breazeale has spent a lot of time looking at Joshua’s past fights, and he’s spotted a number of flaws in his game that he feels he can take advantage of them.

There’s a lot to look at in terms of flaws in Joshua’s game when you see him fight. He tends to bum rush his opponents, and he seems to be too inclined to slug with anyone. That’s a product of him having faced a lot of opposition that didn’t have the talent to make him cautious. In other words, Joshua doesn’t seem to know better yet that he should use some boxing in his fights. He thinks he can steam roll everyone based on being the taller and heavier fighter.
