Will anyone be surprised if David Haye fights Audley Harrison?

Image: Will anyone be surprised if David Haye fights Audley Harrison?By William Mackay: I don’t know what the big fuss is all about. I never thought for an instant that WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (24-1, 22 KO’s) would fight either of the Klitschko brothers, in particular IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko. Haye had a chance to fight Wladimir before last year in June but came up with a back injury weeks before the fight. Wladimir, still not turned off towards Haye, then called out Haye again to try and get another fight. And like last time, it doesn’t look like Haye is about to fight Wladimir.

By Sean McDaniel: WBA heavyweight champion David Haye and his manage/trainer Adam Booth have a big decision to make whether to take on the dangerous IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and risk getting destroyed or take the easy path and fight fellow Brit Audley Harrison next for the easy money. Booth recently spoke about that in an article at the Telegraph, saying “The criticism [Haye would receive for fighting Harrison rather than Klitschko] dumped on David would be horrific. He would be branded a coward and people would say he was running away from the Klitschkos.”

Booth commented on all this in an article by Ron Lewis at Timesonline.co.uk, saying “As a boxing fans, I hate the fight [Haye vs. Audley Harrison], because Audley has not boxed anyone in the top 20, but I know that maybe David didn’t deserve a shot at Valuev. Within Britain it will be a fight that people would love to see, but Haye will receive a lot of criticism worldwide. he will be called a coward for not facing the Klitschkos and his credibility will be shot to pieces.”
