Froch should give Dirrell a rematch instead of Kessler

dirrell33By Scott Gilfoid: IBF super middleweight champion Carl Froch (30-2, 22 KO’s) is really interested in facing WBA super middleweight champion Mikklel Kessler again to try and avenge his defeat from two years ago in the Super Six tournament, but that’s not the guy that Froch should be fighting a rematch with. If anyone that Froch should be looking to fight again, it should be Andre Dirrell (20-1, 14 KO’s) because Froch’s win over him in 2009 is one of the most controversial fights that you’ll ever see in your life.

For those who watched last Saturday’s horrendous decision in the Tomasz Adamek – Steve Cunningham 2 fight, that fight result is nothing compared to Froch’s controversial decision over Dirrell. What made Froch’s win over Dirrell so especially bad was that not only did Dirrell get jobbed in a fight that he arguably should have won 10 rounds to 2, but Froch was able to beat Dirrell while getting away with tons of fouling in that fight without getting penalized for it by the referee. Froch: “I was hoping that Abraham was going to knock him [Dirrell] out, and that’s what happened” – News

Image: Froch: “I was hoping that Abraham was going to knock him [Dirrell] out, and that’s what happened” - NewsBy Scott Gilfoid: It seems that World Boxing Council super middleweight champion Carl Froch (26-0, 20 KO’s) still has some bruised feelings about his controversial 12 round split decision win over the talented Andre Dirrell (19-1, 13 KO’s) from their Super Six stage 1 bout last October. In an article at Boxing Fanhouse, Froch says “I was hoping that Abraham was going to knock him out, and that’s what happened, even though Dirrell did get the decision.” Gosh, Froch seems to really be holding a grudge against Dirrell because of his impressive performance against Froch. You can’t blame a fighter for giving it his all, coming into a foreign country, staggering the champion and trying his hardest to get a win, can you?
