By Scott Gilfoid: It looks like Carl Froch (33-2, 24 KOs) is the touchy one today after ESPN writer Dan Rafael told him to keep his gob shut if he’s not interested in really fighting WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs). Rafael blasted Froch over the Tweet that he sent out yesterday in which he said “Too big & too strong for GGG.”
The tweet was no big deal, but it became a big deal when Golovkin’s promoter Tom Loeffler called Froch on his words by telling him to back it up in the ring against Golovkin in saying “Carl, there’s only one way to find out @eddieHearn @GGGBoxing.” Loeffler basically lobbed an underhand pitch to Froch and all he had to do was hit it out of the park by saying ‘Anytime, anywhere,’ as far as when he would face Golovkin. But did Froch do that? Nope! Froch clammed up entirely and said nothing for the rest of the day.
