By Scott Gilfoid: Former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (28-2, 20 KOs) says his promote Eddie Hearn is trying to negotiate for Froch’s first fight with IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute (29-0, 24 KO’s) to take place in the UK rather than in Montreal, Canada but he’s not having much luck in making that happen.

Froch-Bute two-fight deal to allows the loser of the first fight to move on rather than fight a second time
By Scott Gilfoid: The two-fight deal that Carl Froch and IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute may involve a condition having to be met before there’s a second fight between the two fighters. According to Dan Rafael, if the first ends by a lopsided decision or a knockout, then there might not be any second fight between Bute and Froch.

Froch will be in big trouble against Bute in Montreal
By Scott Gilfoid: Former WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch and IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute are in negotiations for a possible two fight deal in 2012. Froch needs a big win to jump start his career and he seems to be willing to bet everything on him being able to beat Bute and take his International Boxing Federation title, even if it means fighting Bute in Montreal, Canada next. Froch loses to Bute in Montreal seven days a week, 365 days a year. He can’t win there unless he knocks the guy out.
Ward: Froch needs to take a tune-up fight before facing Bute
By Scott Gilfoid: Andre Ward doesn’t agree that Carl Froch should go straight from a loss against him into an important fight against IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute. Ward thinks Froch needs a tune-up before taking that kind of fight, and I agree. I think Froch will pull a major dumb move if he goes from a loss to Ward straight into a fight against a hit and run fighter like Bute.
