By Eric Thomas: In an article on the Yahoo Boxing Blog, IBF light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson’s manager Mike Criscio doubts that Bernard Hopkins will fight Dawson, saying “Hopkins is afraid of Chad. I think if he goes into the ring he knows Chad will be way too quick for him and I think Chad will take him [Hopkins] out early.” Dawson and his team figure it’s more likely that Joe Calzaghe comes out of retirement to fight Dawson than Hopkins getting the desire to step up and face Dawson for his IBF title.

Will Hopkins Fight Dawson?
By William Mackay: Well, we now know that IBF light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson didn’t put in one of his better performances against Antonio Tarver last Saturday night, beating him by a 12-round unanimous decision that left a lot of people wondering about Dawson. With the fight well in hand after six rounds, Dawson had a number of lapses of concentration in the final six rounds, taking shots and not entirely dealing well with the little bit of pressure that Tarver was putting on Dawson.

By Manuel Perez: According to Dan Rafael at ESPN, HBO is interested in putting together a match between International Boxing Federation light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson and 44-year-old Bernard Hopkins. It seems that HBO doesn’t have any interest in showing a bout between light heavyweight contender 40-year-old Glen Johnson and IBF cruiserweight champion Tomasz Adamek. Instead, HBO would much rather see Hopkins face Dawson, who arguably is the best fighter in the light heavyweight division at this time.
