By Jim Dower: 29-year-old Chad Dawson (31-1, 17 KO’s) took 47-year-old Bernard Hopkins (52-6-2, 32 KO’s) to school tonight, dominating him through 12 rounds in winning a 12 round majority decision to capture Hopkins’ World Boxing Council light heavyweight title at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The final judges’ scores were 117-111, 117-111 and 114-114.
Atlas: I don’t see Hopkins doing well against Dawson

Atlas feels that Dawson is too careful, too young, too smart and too big for Hopkins to find success against.

Hopkins hurt his left shoulder when Dawson picked him up and dropped him late in the 2nd round.

By Allan Fox: We saw how 47-year-old Bernard Hopkins was able to get under the skin of Chad Dawson enough to where he lost his temper and angrily picked Hopkins up and dropped him on the canvas in the 2nd round in their fight last October. Hopkins, whether you believe it or not, was injured during the fall and it caused the fight to be halted. Dawson blew it for himself by getting annoyed with Hopkins and reporting to lifting him up and dropping him.
