There is no doubt that doesn’t Manny lack power but Miguel is much cleverer than Ricky Hatton and a lot younger than Oscar De La Hoya.

Not grateful for Cotto-Pacquiao

pac324345By Manuel Perez: Although this is a decent fight, I’m not grateful for next month’s November 14th bout between Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao. It’s being portrayed as being the best against the best, but I don’t see Cotto as being the best fighter in the welterweight division, so I’m not all impressed as I would be if Pacquiao was fighting Shane Mosley, Floyd Mayweather or Paul Williams.

Khan thinks Pacquiao could beat Mayweather – News

mayweather34234342By Manuel Perez: For what it’s worth, World Boxing Association light welterweight champion Amir Khan thinks that Manny Pacquiao can beat Floyd Mayweather in the future, according to the Telegraph.co. “I think Manny [Pacquiao] might take the fight with his speed,” Khan said. However, the opinion doesn’t have much weight as far as I’m concerned because Khan, after all, does train with Pacquiao and has the same trainer Freddie Roach. It’s not like Khan’s a neutral observer or anything, like me.

cotto4532434By Manuel Perez: If Miguel Cotto (34-1, 27 KO’s) wants to beat Manny Pacquiao (49-3-2, 37 KO’s) on November 14th, he’s going to have to make a point to rough Pacquiao up early and often and make it tough for the smaller fighter. Pacquiao will come in at pretty much the same weight as Cotto at the weigh-in, but by the time the fight takes place, you can expect that Cotto will have a 10 to 15 pound weight advantage over Pacquiao.
