Golovkin isn’t athletic the way Jacobs is says Algieri

By Dan Ambrose: Former WBO light welterweight champion Chris Algieri says that Gennady “GGG” Golovkin lacks the athletic talent that he sees in Danny Jacobs, and he feels that he’s going to possibly beat the Kazakhstan fighter. Algieri is in Hayward, California to help Jacobs (32-1, 29 KOs) by working on his nutrition for the GGG fight.

Jacobs is working out of trainer Virgil Hunter’s gym in Hayward. Aligeri is impressed with what he’s seen of Jacobs during camp, as he sees him as a very big puncher with power in both hands. He’s mostly impressed with the 29-year-old Jacobs’ athletic ability and he sees that as being key when he faces the unbeaten Golovkin (36-0, 33 KOs) on March 18 in their fight on HBO pay-per-view at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Errol Spence: The only notable win for Keith Thurman is Guerrero

Image: Errol Spence: The only notable win for Keith Thurman is GuerreroBy Dan Ambrose: Undefeated Errol Spence Jr. (20-0, 17 KOs) was asked about WBA welterweight champion Keith “One Time” Thurman at Spence’s press conference last Saturday night following his 5th round knockout win over Chris Algieri (21-3, 8 KOs) at the Barclays Center Brooklyn, New York.

It was pointed out by a member of the media that Thurman had dismissed any notion of a fight against Spence last year due to Thurman’s belief that Spence didn’t have the experience to be fighting him. Spence finally got a chance to fire back at Thurman last Saturday when he pointed out that the only name on Thurman’s entire resume is Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero, who clearly is on the downside of his career with three defeats in his last five fights.
