Just a week ago this fight was just a rumour in talks, now it’s on the verge of being official. June 12th is a long time away, so don’t get too excited yet, but we do have plenty more to look forward to.

Image: Pacquiao won’t be fighting Foreman – NewsBy Eric Thomas: According to writer Michael Marley of Boxing Confidential, World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (50-3-2, 38 KO’s) won’t be facing WBA junior middleweight champion Yuri Foreman (28-0, 8 KO’s) next. Marley states that Pacquiao’s trainer, Freddie Roach, and adviser Michael Koncz said that Pacquiao wouldn’t be fighting Foreman next. This is bad news for Pacquiao’s promoter, Bob Arum, who badly wanted Pacquiao to fight Foreman next so that Manny could aim for his 8th world title win.

Will there be a catch weight for Foreman-Pacquiao?

Image: Will there be a catch weight for Foreman-Pacquiao?By Dave Lahr: I’m still hoping that the mega bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao can still be made, but I’m not holding my breath on that happening. It’s looking like Pacquiao will be fighting World Boxing Association light middleweight champion Yuri Foreman instead, a move made so that Pacquiao can go for an 8th world title.

Is Pacquiao too small to beat Foreman?

Image: Is Pacquiao too small to beat Foreman?By Dave Lahr: I’m not even thinking that the bout between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao can be salvaged at this point. It looks as if neither of the two fighters are going to give in about the drug testing methods, and the lawsuit by Pacquiao that was announced yesterday, probably spells doom for the potential mega fight. That’s good news for World Boxing Association light middleweight champion Yuri Foreman (28-0, 8 KO’s), who has been mentioned as a possible next opponent for Pacquiao by Manny’s promoter Bob Arum.

This is some terrible news for boxing fans who were hoping to see the mega fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao. It doesn’t like it’s ever going to happen now, not with all this going on.

Manny Pacquiao vs Yuri Foreman…What?!

pac667By Eamon Mcdonald: I recently read an interview with Freddie Roach, the trainer for Manny Pacquiao, in which he said Manny might take on World Boxing Association junior middleweight champion Yuri Foreman. The majority of boxing fans will respond ‘who’s that?’ and that is exactly my response. Pacquaio would have to gain more weight to fight this unknown fighter which in turn could end up being a big talking point in the Mayweather-Pacquiao match next year (which is going to happen, I don’t know why people keep talking bout it being canceled because it will definitely happen).
