Haye: “I’ll have a few treats in store for them” [the Klitschko brothers]

Image: Haye: “I’ll have a few treats in store for them” [the Klitschko brothers]By William Mackay: If WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (24-1, 22 KO’s) is as good as he talks, the Klitschko brothers are as good as finished when they do finally meet up with the 29-year-old loud talking British heavyweight. Haye says in article at Boxrec, “I’ll have a few treats in store for them [the Klitschko brothers]. I like all the verbals and when my opponent says he will knock me out. It will be a genuine grudge match, they despise me. I am a proper wind up merchant.” I suppose the object is not to respond to Haye criticism. That doesn’t seem to work, unfortunately.

Wladimir may have to accept a 50-50 deal to fight Haye

Image: Wladimir may have to accept a 50-50 deal to fight HayeBy Jim Dower: The terms of changed for IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko if he wants to fight WBA heavyweight champion David Haye. If Wladimir wants to fight Haye now, Wladimir will likely have to accept a 50-50 deal, and not one that is slanted in Wladimr’s favor like the first time they attempted to fight. Haye, 29, now has a title, the World Boxing Association belt, and has defended it successfully one time in taking out veteran John Ruiz in the 9th round last weekend at the M.E.N. Arena, in Manchester, England. Haye was very impressive in that win showing great power in knocking Ruiz down four times in the fight.

Sprott thinks the Klitschko brothers would beat Haye

Image: Sprott thinks the Klitschko brothers would beat HayeBy Sean McDaniel: Former British and Commonwealth heavyweight champion Michael Sprott believes the Klitschko brothers would be too good for World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye (24-1, 22 KO’s). Sprott should know. He’s been sparring with IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and has been on the receiving end up his big punches. In an article at the Daily Mail, Sprott says “Wladimir is up there with the greats of boxing, like Lennox Lewis. For a heavyweight, he is a very technical fighter. Haye has been the exciting one out there and might prove a challenge. But I can’t see anyone beating Wladimir or his elder brother, that’s why they have been champions for so long. I know David [Haye] said all he [Wladimir] does is jab, jab, jab, and he has got a powerful fast jab. But as soon as he lands that left, the right follow and it is all over quickly.”

Mormeck thinks Haye isn’t ready to fight the Klitschkos

Image: Mormeck thinks Haye isn’t ready to fight the KlitschkosBy William Mackay: Former WBA/WBC cruiserweight champion Jean Marc Mormeck (34-4, 22 KO’s) doesn’t believe that World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye (24-1, 22 KO’s) is ready to face either of the Klitschko brothers. In an article at the Bankkokpost, the 37-year-old Mormeck says “I’m convinced if he’d [Haye] fought either of the Klitschko brothers instead of [John] Ruiz, he would have lost the fight inside the distance. He’s not ready to fight either of them. One day, he will be, but it’s still too early for him.”

Haye: “The Klitschkos, all their careers, have fought guys who are clearly overweight, out of shape, happy to keep getting a payday”

By William Mackay: World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye (24-1, 22 KO’s) took a moment to comment about the Klitschko brothers following his 9th round TKO win over John Ruiz last Saturday night, saying in an article at the Telegraph “The Klitschkos, all their careers, have fought guys who are clearly overweight, out of shape, happy to keep getting a payday.” Haye seems to be disappointed in the physical fitness of the heavyweights.

Haye: “If I hit the Klitschkos with the same shots I was hitting Ruiz, both of them would go over” – News

Image: Haye: “If I hit the Klitschkos with the same shots I was hitting Ruiz, both of them would go over” - NewsBy Scott Gilfoid: World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye (24-1, 22 KO’s) was in fine form after last night’s 9th round technical knockout over the slow, short 38-year-old John Ruiz (44-9-1, 30 KO’s, as Haye tooted his own horn, saying “If I hit the Klitschkos with the same shots I was hitting Ruiz, both of them would go over.” I suppose Haye is correct about that. If both Klitschko brothers were stupid enough to just stand there in front of Haye all night long, crouching down to the same height as the 6’2” Ruiz, throwing mainly weak punches, then I could have seen Haye knocking both of the Klitschko brothers out.

Don’t hold your breath waiting for Haye-Klitschko

Image: Don’t hold your breath waiting for Haye-KlitschkoBy William Mackay: If you’re hoping that World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye (24-1, 22 KO’s0 will be fighting one of the Klitschko brothers any time soon, think again. I don’t expect Haye to fighting both of the Klitschko any time soon, and probably not until 2011, if at all. Judging by how evasive Haye’s manager/trainer Adam Booth whenever the Klitschko’s names were brought up, I think it’s safe to assume that neither of the Klitschkos will be on the agenda for the next fight.

This is a fighter which has great experience at heavyweight against fighters such as Evander Holyfield, Hasim Rahman and James Toney while Haye has only 3 heavyweight fights on his entire record, wins over; Tomasz Bonin, Monte Barrett and Nikolai Valuev. Divid Haye would be silly to overlook this challenge but should be able to use his great speed and power, and youth to take Ruiz out as promised.

Haye could fight the Klitschko brothers in the Middle East – News

Image: Haye could fight the Klitschko brothers in the Middle East – NewsBy Jim Dower: If World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye (23-1, 21 KO’s) has his way, he could be facing one of the Klitschko brothers in the Middle East next. According to AP, Haye has already started discussions for having a unification bout against one of the Klitschko brothers – Vitali or Wladimir – take place in the Middle East. Haye says “It’s something we have talked about with Adam Booth [Haye’s trainer/manager]. There has not been a big title fight in the Middle East. A heavyweight title fight is the biggest you can get. It would be huge for putting Abu Dhabi on the map.“
