By Scott Gilfoid: In just watching a little bit of sparring action between unbeaten 6’7″ heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder (29-0, 29 KO’s) and David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) in training camp, you could see that Haye was really taking some vicious head shots from Deontay in training footage from Hayemaker.com.
Tyson Fury
Tyson “The Gypsy King” Fury, a British boxing giant standing tall at 6’9″ and tipping the scales at 278 lbs, has been ruling the heavyweight division with his iron fists since 2020. Not just a family man with a bunch of kids and a love story that dates back to 2008 with Paris, but Fury also boasts a record that reads like a warrior’s epic—especially his trilogy with Deontay Wilder (2-0-1, with 2 KOs) and a hat trick against Derek Chisora. Before claiming the WBC crown, he unified the heavyweight titles way back in 2015, only to take a brief hiatus from the throne. With a squad of fighting siblings by his side, Fury’s not just throwing punches; he’s crafting a legacy that’s as large as his frame. Tyson Fury’s net worth is estimated to be around £50million, according to Forbes magazine.
Tyson Fury wants to fight Deontay Wilder after David Haye bout, says Hennessy
By Scott Gilfoid: Unbeaten British heavyweight Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s) says he wants to face unbeaten American contender Deontay Wilder (29-0, 29 KO’s) if Fury can get past David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) on September 28th in the UK. Fury’s promoter Mick Hennessy says that the 6’7″ Deontay is the one that Fury wants after Haye, and he’s eager to put that fight together.
Hennessy told I Film London “Tyson said once he knocks David Haye out, he’s going to take the best heavyweight who he considers in world boxing from the U.S [Deontay Wilder], and he’s going to take him on in a massive fight. That’s Tyson, he doesn’t swerve anyone, and Deontay, he wants the same.”
Haye: Fury’s making a mistake if he tries to use his size to beat me
By Scott Gilfoid: David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) will likely be giving up at least 30 pounds in weight against the 6’9″ Tyson Fury, and another 7 inches in height when they fight each other this month on September 28th at the Manchester Arena in the UK. Haye doesn’t seem to mind that he’s facing a guy much bigger than him, because he feels that Fury is someone just begging to be knocked out with his straight up style of fighting and his bad habit of slugging it out with his opponents.
Perhaps the major reason why Fury tends to slug it out so much with his opponents is because he hasn’t faced a real big puncher yet in his career like Deontay Wilder. When you’re fighting a bunch of domestic/Euro level stiffs that can’t punch their way out of a wet paper bag, of course you’re going to develop habits of slugging it out.
Chisora wants rematch with Haye and Fury if he gets past Gerber on Saturday
By Scott Gilfoid: Dereck Chisora (17-4, 11 KO’s) will be fighting for the vacant EBU heavyweight crown this Saturday night against Edmund Gerber (23-1, 14 KO’s) at the Copper Box Arena, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Hackney Wick, in London, United Kingdom. Chisora says he’s not that interested in fighting for a world title against one of the Klitschko brothers, but instead he’s got his sights set on trying to land a rematch against his former conquerors David Haye and Tyson Fury in what would be an all British clash.
Chisora was knocked out by Haye in the 5th round last year in May in a one-sided fight, and Fury beat an out of shape Chisora by a lopsided 12 round unanimous decision two years ago in July of 2011.
Tyson Fury back in UK from Belgium training camp
By Scott Gilfoid: The big 6’9” heavyweight Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s) is back in Britain from his Belgium training camp and ready for the final push for his September 28th make or break fight against David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) at the Manchester Arena, according to the Daily Mail.
Haye: I’m going to kick Fury’s backside from pillar to post
By Scott Gilfoid: Former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) says he doesn’t care if his opponent Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s) were able to kick and use knees against him in their fight on September 28th, because Haye thinks it’s about the only way the light-hitting, slapping Fury would have any chance of making their fight competitive.
As things are right now, it’s a hopeless mismatch between a teacher and a pupil. About the only good thing about this mismatch is that it’ll likely be over quickly with Fury getting put out of his misery early in the fight by Haye.
Fury hoping his dad will see him fight David Haye on September 28th
By Scott Gilfoid: Undefeated heavyweight contender Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s) is badly hoping that his father John Fury will be able to be released from prison to sit at ringside for Fury’s important fight this month against former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) at the Manchester Arena in the UK. His father was given an 11-year prison sentence for gauging another man’s eye out during a fight.
Tyson Fury says that his dad is already being given time off from prison each month, and he’s hoping that one of those days will be on September 28th so that he’ll be there for the Haye fight.
Deontay Wilder and Mariusz Wach join David Haye in UK for sparring
By Scott Gilfoid: American heavyweight Deontay Wilder and Polish heavyweight Mariusz Wach have joined David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) in the UK to start assisting him with sparring for a couple of weeks for his September 28th fight against big 6’9” Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s) at the Manchester Arena in the UK.
Haye has already been sparring with Alexander Dimitrenko and Richard Towers, but now Haye is getting a big upgrade in the power department with Deontay and Wach.
Haye says he wants to conquer the styles of these fighters so that he can be ready for Fury, but I don’t think he’s going to have much luck conquering Deontay’s fighting style;
Fury-Haye to be televised by HBO in U.S on September 28th
By Scott Gilfoid: American boxing fans will get to see what could be a very quick fight on September 28th between former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) and Tyson Fury (26-2, 24 KO’s) on HBO from the Manchester Arena in the UK, according to Dan Rafael. HBO has decided to broadcast the all-British heavyweight clash between Fury and Haye, as part of a split triple-header.
There had been talk about it earlier this month about Haye-Fury being shown on HBO, but it was confirmed today.
The other fights on the triple-header will be WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevens (21-1, 18 KO’s) making his first defense of his title against Tavoris Cloud (24-1, 19 KO’s) from the Bell Centre, in Montreal, Canada.
Deontay Wilder ready to help David Haye with 3 weeks of sparring for Fury
By Scott Gilfoid: Undefeated Deontay Wilder is getting ready to fly over the UK to start helping out former WBA heavyweight champion David Haye (26-2, 24 KO’s) for his September 28th fight against Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s). Deontay will be working as high caliber sparring partner to help out the 32-year Haye for the 6’9” Fury. Haye needs a big heavyweight with super long reach to mimic the size of Fury. Haye already has 6’7″ Alexander Dimitrenko in the camp, and there’s talk that the 6’8″ Mariusz Wach will be joining him soon as well.
