Adamek vs. Arreola: Tomasz gambles his future against Arreola on April 24th

Image: Adamek vs. Arreola: Tomasz gambles his future against Arreola on April 24thBy Jim Dower: Former International Boxing Federation cruiserweight champion Tomasz Adamek (40-1, 27 KO’s) is taking a risky roll of the dice by fighting huge heavyweight contender Chris Arreola (28-1, 25 KO’s) on April 24th. Adamek, 33, appears to be gambling big that a win over the 6’4” 250 pound Arreola will put him position for a title fight against one of the Klitschko brothers in the future. It’s a gamble that could work out well for Adamek if he doesn’t get knocked out. Adamek is only 6’1” 220, which is on the small side for a heavyweight contender.

Arreola vs. Adamek: Should Tomasz ask for a catch weight of 235?

Image: Arreola vs. Adamek: Should Tomasz ask for a catch weight of 235?By Jim Dower: Count me in as one of the few people who thought that former IBF cruiserweight champion Tomasz Adamek (40-1, 27 KO’s) looked pretty damn good in beating former 2004 U.S. Olympian Jason Estrada last Saturday night at the Prudential Center, in Newark, New Jersey. Adamek, 33, defeated Estrada by a 12 round unanimous decision by the scores of 115-113, 116-112 and 118-110. I agreed with the last judge’s scores. I saw Adamek winning about 10 of the 12 rounds with his better combinations and movement.

Adamek beats Estrada: Arreola could be next

Image: Adamek beats Estrada: Arreola could be nextBy Jason Kim: Heavyweight contender Tomasz Adamek (40-1, 27 KO’s) did what he had to do in defeating 2nd tier heavyweight Jason Estrada (16-3, 4 KO’s) by a 12 round unanimous decision on Saturday night at the Prudential Center, in Newark, New Jersey. Adamek, 33, looked good for the most part, landing fast combinations and then moving out of the way of Estrada to avoid getting hit by his counter shots. Adamek threw a lot of punches and moved like constantly around the ring. He looked more like a cruiserweight than a heavyweight with his constantly circling of the ring.

Adamek defeats Estrada

Adamek. Estrada, 29, landed early and often finding it very easy to connect with pretty much anything he threw at Adamek.

When is Adamek going to fight someone good?

Image: When is Adamek going to fight someone good?By Chris Williams: I’ve been waiting for ages for Tomasz Adamek (39-1, 27 KO’s) to fight someone good, and it looks like I’m going to have to wait little longer with Adamek taking on Jason Estrada (16-2, 4 KO’s) on February 6th, at the Prudential Center, in Newark, New Jersey. Adamek, 32, moved up in weight from the cruiserweight division late last year with a 5th round TKO win over 41-year-old Andrew Golota in October 2009.

Image: Arreola vs. Adamek in April: Is Tomasz making a mistake by taking this fight?By Jason Kim: Former light heavyweight and cruiserweight champion Tomasz Adamek is looking to fight big Chris Arreola (28-1, 25 KO’s) on April 24th in a bout that could be a make or break fight for either of the two fighters. Adamek, 33, moved up to the heavyweight division recently to get bigger paydays against the big boys and has fought once, beating an old Andrew Golota in a 5th round stoppage in October in Poland. While Adamek looked good in putting his punches together and knocking Golota down a couple of times, he wasn’t facing anything close to a top contender in that fight.

Jones insists Green should be disqualified; Adamek-Arreola in talks for April 24th- News

Image: Jones insists Green should be disqualified; Adamek-Arreola in talks for April 24th- NewsBy Peter Wells: For the last few weeks Roy Jones Jr has been complaining about the 1st round knockout defeat he suffered to IBO Cruiserweight champion, Danny Green. He has said that Green used excess wrapping tape and bandages around his hands and is requested that Danny should be disqualified. Really this is not that big a issue, but Jones doesn’t like losing unfairly, and who doesn’t. Even if this fight is called a No-Contest, it wouldn’t be good enough for Jones.
