All roads lead to Sugar Shane Mosley!

mosley45346225By Jorge Lugo: Freddy Roach has been saying along with many other people that he wants Floyd Mayweather Jr. next for Manny, and given his impressive stoppage of Cotto, it actually looks like this fight might take place. Unfortunately though, all this talk of a Manny Pacquiao vs. Mayweather Jr. fight needing to take place to prove who’s the best lead’s me to further ask the what if’s? If Manny Pacquiao beats Floyd Mayweather jr regardless of fashion, should he retire and continue into politics like so many say he will?

The Super Six leading the way: Will the rest follow?

mayweather452354By Andrew Muldoon: It takes a lot to get an idea as big and as brilliant as Showtime’s Super Six tournament up and running, which is why a hell of a lot of credit must go to the people involved. Showtime, promoters, sponsors, sanctioning bodies and most of important of all the fighters themselves. Egos have been put to one side to give the fans the most exciting concept to hit the sport in 20 years which is highly commendable. I’m not going to go on about who will win or who will lose, or what i thought of the first two bouts, this article is about the tournament itself and the effect I hope it will have on the rest of boxing.

Berto-Mosley confirmed; Tyson, Harrison, More

berto3423456By Eric Thomas: 43-year-old retired fighter Mike Tyson made boxing news earlier today when he was reportedly arrested yesterday while at Los Angeles Airport for allegedly striking a 50-year-old photographer in the face and knocking him down. Tyson, 43, was traveling with his wife and 10-month old child. It’s unknown what caused the incident at this time. Tyson was later released. The photographer was cut on the forehead from the punch.

The Return of Sugar Shane: But Will Berto Ruin The Party

mosley4523567By Peter Wells: It will be over 1 year since Shane Mosley last fought on January 30th where he meets unbeaten WBC Welterweight champion Andre Berto 25-0(19KO’s) in Las Vegas. After plenty of fights being made and cancelled for Mosley, after arranging to fight with Joshua Clottey on Boxing Day. I’m sure it would have been a great Christmas present for one of the fighters, but as soon as it was made, it was canceled. It will be hard for Mosley to return after such a huge lay off, and the worry that Shane can blow hot and cold.

The Truth Bout Boxing

mosley45659By Ibrar Arshaid: I remember when I was younger and I had my first taste of boxing, it was at the local boys boxing club that was located around the corner from my home. My first thought about the whole experience of sparring and the enduring training regime was ‘Damn this is tough’. From that day I have always had respect for all boxers. Starting out as your average youth, boxing develops these kids into Men who carry themselves with pride and respect, and in the ring they showcase their art.

Super 6, The Welterweights – A Dream too far?

mayweather453443434By Richard Gough: Let’s all be honest, the Super Middleweight tournament has generated so much talk and hype prior to the first bouts, that it got us all interested in a rich and deep division.

And after the first two fights, more talk, controversy, decisions, a knock out and more to look forward to with the anticipated Ward v Kessler bout.

The Mayweather Myth

mayweather445648By Jordan Stoddart: I thought I would write regarding the current and topical (and maybe frustrating issue to some) subject of Floyd Mayweather’s apparent refusal to fight Shane Mosley, and his (assumed) desire to fight the winner of Miguel Cotto and Manny Pacquiao. I want to cover a few points, as there are a few angles being missed by forum users and the general public. Whether that be plain ignorance or prejudice or whether it is just a way of stirring up ‘pre-mega-fight hype’; you cannot tell. All I know is, Floyd V Pac is the right decision for the Boxing fan, causal or purist.

Is Mayweather running scared of Mosley?

mayweather453245By Chris Williams: If it’s already not obvious to all, Floyd Mayweather Jr. seems entirely disinterested in fighting Shane Mosley right now – and possibly forever – if one were to read the tea leaves from Mayweather’s comments made about Mosley, in which Mayweather said “I wish him [Mosley] nothing but the best in his career.”

Berto vs. Mosley on January 30th

berto442349By Dave Lahr: After wasting much of the past year fruitlessly attempting to land fights against Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr., WBA welterweight champion Shane Mosley will have to settle for fighting a unification match against World Boxing Council title holder Andre Berto (25-0, 19 KO’s) on January 30th, according to latest boxing news.
