1. Fighter of the Year: Manny Pacquiao

An easy choice this year. After retiring Oscar De La Hoya late in 2008, he rendered unconscious Ricky Hatton in two and then stopped Miguel Cotto after he finally chased him down in the 12th round. Manny is THE event fighter in boxing going into 2010.

2. Fight of the Year: Bernard Dunne vs. Ricardo “Maestrito” Cordoba

Dunne was dropped and hurt badly twice in the fifth round while his Panamanian opponent was decked in the third and then three times more in the eleventh round after which the fight was finally stopped in front of a roaring crowd in Dublin.

Shane Mosley hoping for a great 2010

Image: Shane Mosley hoping for a great 2010By Peter Wells: One of the world’s greatest fighters at present, World Boxing Association welterweight champion ‘Sugar’ Shane Mosley has very high hopes of a great 2010. Despite getting the worlds attention early this January by stopping Antonio Margarito after Margarito stopped unbeaten Cotto. Unfortunately things didn’t go according to plan, 2009 turned into a year of being avoided, not fighting at all for the rest of the year, despite his pleas.

Mosley: “I’m the best welterweight in the world”

Image: Mosley: “I’m the best welterweight in the world”By Jason Kim: Throughout all the massive amount of attention that has been centered around the Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. bout recently, World Boxing Association welterweight champion Shane Mosley (46-5, 39 KO’s) has been ignored by boxing fans and the media. Mosley, 38, will be facing unbeaten WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto in a unification bout on January 30th, at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mosley should be bigger star than Mayweather

mosley453466225By Klaas Mabetlela: Floyd Mayweather fierce critics and most general boxing fans say that he avoids the best in the world, the best in the divisions he fights in, is boring to watch, cherry picks his opponent and lately fights smaller men.

I looked closely into Shane Mosley career and it seems that he is doing exactly what Mayweather critics says Money should be doing.

Mosley vs. Berto: Look for Andre to suffer his first defeat

mosley343By Chris Williams: World Boxing Association welterweight champion Shane Mosley (46-5, 39 KO’s) will be making his first fight in over a year on January 30th, against WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto (25-0, 19 KO’s) in their unification bout at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Berto, 26, is hoping that a win over Mosley will lead to bigger and better things for him, and perhaps to mega stardom.

Will the winner of Pacquiao-Mayweather fight Mosley?

mosley456547By Eric Thomas: A question that has been on the minds of some boxing fans is whether the winner of the proposed Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao bout choose to do the right thing and fight World Boxing Association welterweight champion Shane Mosley or will the winner opt to ignore Mosley and go in a different direction? It would be hard to crown the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather winner the top fighter in the welterweight division if they leave Mosley as unfinished business. Of course, Mosley has to win his January 30th bout against Andre Berto for him to proceed ahead against the winner of Mayweather-Pacquiao.

Andre Berto – The last great hope of Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr.

berto35463355By Jorge Lugo: On January 30th, 2010 Andre Berto will take on Shane Mosley in what is a unification bout for the World Boxing Council and WBA welterweight titles. Mosley, the WBA champion is a boxing legend who is recognized for his fast and heavy handed punches. Berto, the WBC champion is known to be the “future” of the sport, his signature right hook and powerful right hand are worry for any top fighter.

Berto-Mosley: Shane will continue to be avoided if he wins
