By Dan Ambrose: WBA World junior middleweight champion Austin Trout (26-0, 14 KO’s) wants to be next in line to face unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. on Showtime/CBS if or when Trout beats the highly hyped but untested Golden Boy promoted WBC junior middleweight champion Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (41-0-1, 30 KO’s) on April 20th in San Antonio, Texas.
Trout said to Fighthype.com “I know he’s [Mayweather] got a six-fight deal, and I would love to land on one of those spots. If he wants to make me wait, I’m not opposed to taking on other champions, the people with the belts [at junior middleweight].”
