Arum sees Mayorga as being an explosive puncher for Cotto

By Jason Kim: Bob Arum isn’t dismissing the threat that Ricardo Mayorga (29-7-1, 23 KO’s) poses for his fighter WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (35-2, 28 KO’s) for their fight on March 12th at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Arum realizes that Mayorga can still punch and could be problems for Cotto in this fight.

Cotto thinks he would beat Pacquiao in a rematch: Who would want to see that fight?

Image: Cotto thinks he would beat Pacquiao in a rematch: Who would want to see that fight?By Chris Williams: WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (35-2, 28 KO’s) would like to get a second stab at Manny Pacquiao in the future, and likes his chances in rematch with him. Cotto previously fought Pacquiao in November 2009, and was completely out-gunned and slowly and methodically beaten to a pulp. The fight stopped being interesting after the first round when Cotto started running just to survive.

Cotto-Mayorga: Look for Miguel to get chopped to pieces by Ricardo

By Dan Ambrose: WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (35-2, 28 KO’s) has been though six very hard fights since 2005, and taken an enormous amount of punishment in each of those fights. Even in his recent win over Yuri Foreman, Cotto was hit with some mammoth shots. There’s whispers out there among Cotto’s loyal fans that he’s no longer the same fighter he once was. I don’t need to hear the whispers to see that Cotto has noticeably deteriorated in the last three years with the beatings he taken in the ring.

Cotto vs. Mayorga Event: Worst Stinker of the Year

Image: Cotto vs. Mayorga Event: Worst Stinker of the YearBy Francisco Hernandez: If you think the Pacquiao vs. Mosley fight stinks, you may have to really pinch your nose hard for the Cotto vs. Mayorga event, because that is a really bigger stinker, worse than the restrooms at the Chicago bus station. Give me a break; you got Miguel Angel Cotto, despite being the nicest person you can meet, his face can no longer take a punch without turning into a big red balloon, fighting a 37 year old Ricardo Mayorga who cannot beat any junior middleweight of substance.

Cotto vs. Mayorga: Miguel will be in bad shape for Margarito after this fight

By Dan Ambrose: Win or lose his next fight against Ricardo Mayorga on March 12th at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto is likely going to be facing Antonio Margarito in a rematch during the summer. It’s going to be the strangest thing with Cotto coming off a loss or a terrible beating at the hands of Mayorga and still facing Margarito. But I see Cotto and Margarito’s promoter Bob Arum going ahead with their June fight, knowing that the casual fans probably won’t have a clue that Cotto was pounded on by Mayorga.

King: Once Mayorga beats Cotto, he’s going after Pacquiao next – News

By Dan Ambrose: Promoter Don King believes that his fighter Ricardo Mayorga (29-7-1, 23 KO’s) has the talent to pull off an upset over World Boxing Association (WBA) junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (35-2, 28 KO’s) on March 12th at the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Once Cotto is out of the way, King wants to match Mayorga up against another one of Bob Arum’s fighters, Manny Pacquiao.

Cotto vs. Mayorga to be televised on Showtime PPV on 3/12

By Dan Ambrose: With HBO deciding to instead show the WBC middleweight bout between champion Sergio Martinez vs. Sergeii Dzinziruk on March 12th, Bob Arum has moved his fighter WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto 35-2, 28 KO’s) to Showtime for a pay-per-view bout against Ricardo Mayorga (29-7-2, 23 KO’s) that will compete with the Martinez-Dzinziruk fight. It’s a tough choice, because the Martinez fight won’t have the huge price tag that the Cotto-Mayorga fight card will have.

Cotto vs. Mayorga: Will Ricardo make Miguel quit?

By Dan Ambrose: WBA junior middleweight champion Miguel Cotto (35-2, 28 KO’s) is probably pretty fortunate to be the holder of the World Boxing Association junior middleweight title right now, because if he had to have faced a tougher fighter than fellow Top Rank stable fighter Yuri Foreman in his last fight to capture the WBA title, Cotto probably would have been torn to pieces and finished off. Cotto has taken a ton of punishment in the ring in the past two years to the point where he looks bad when he starts to get hit.
