ruiz

By Dan Ambrose: Unbeaten #3 WBO Andy Ruiz Jr. (29-0, 19 KOs) will be attempting to become the first Mexican American to capture a heavyweight title this Saturday night on December 10 when he faces unbeaten #1 WBO Joseph Parker (21-0, 18 KOs) at the Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand.

The Parker vs. Ruiz Jr. fight will be televised on HBO Championship Boxing this Saturday, December 10 starting at 9:35 p.m. ET/PT. In addition to the Parker-Ruiz fight, HBO will be showing WBC/WBO light welterweight champion Terence Crawford (29-0, 20 KOs) defending his titles against contender John Molina (29-6, 23 KOs) and Raymundo Beltran (31-7-1, 19 KOs) facing Mason Menard (32-1, 24 KOs) in a fight that will be taking place at the CenturyLink Arena in Omaha, Nebraska. That’s where the 29-year-old Crawford lives.

Parker vs. Ruiz Jr: Joseph ready to win on Dec.10

parker1

By Scott Gilfoid: Undefeated heavyweight contender Joseph Parker (21-0, 18 KOs) believes that his speed and talent will lead him to victory on December 10 against unbeaten contender Andy Ruiz Jr. (29-0, 19 KOs) in their scrap for the vacant WBO heavyweight title at the Vector Arena, in Auckland, New Zealand.

Parker’s own trainer Kevin Barry surprised a lot of boxing fans recently when he said he didn’t see the 24-year-old Parker as the favorite in the fight. Barry favors the 27-year-old Ruiz Jr., who is ranked below Parker at No.3 in the World Boxing Organization’s top 15 rankings. The WBO has Parker at No.1 and Wladimir Klitschko at No.2.

Parker’s promoter sees Haye as easier opponent than Ruiz

haye1000

By Scott Gilfoid: Dean Lonergan, the promoter for unbeaten #1 WBO heavyweight contender Joseph Parker (21-0, 18 KOs), sees David Haye (28-2, 26 KOs) as an easier opponent than #3 WBO Andy Ruiz Jr. (29-0, 19 KOs), who the 24-year-old Parker will be facing next month on December 10 in a fight for the vacant World Boxing Organization heavyweight title at the Vector Arena in Auckland, New Zealand.

The WBO made #5 WBO Haye the mandatory for the winner of the Parker-Ruiz fight. Whether the 36-year-old Haye will take that fight is the big question. Haye might choose to wait on a big money fight against IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua instead of risking his hide facing the winner of the Parker vs. Ruiz Jr. fight, even though it would be in Haye’s best interest to win the WBO title before he faces Joshua. It would be surprising news if Haye agreed to fight Parker or Ruiz, because those guys have heavy hands. They hit too hard, and they would likely be able to take Haye’s power shots long enough to get to his chin and expose him as not being a true heavyweight.

Joseph Parker vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. December 10 fight

parker1

By Eric Baldwin: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum plans on holding a press conference this Saturday in Las Vegas on November 5 to announce the Joseph Parker (21-0, 18 KOs) vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. (29-0, 19 KOs) heavyweight clash for the vacant WBO belt on December 10 in New Zealand. The Ruiz Jr. vs. Parker fight will be for the WBO title that Tyson Fury recently vacated.

It should be a good fight. Parker, 24, recently defeated Carlos Takam in a World Boxing Organization title eliminator last May to put himself in position for a title shot. Parker was hoping to get a crack at Tyson Fury, but he chose to vacate his title instead of facing him or Wladimir Klitschko.

Joseph Parker vs. Andy Ruiz: Is this a historical bout?

parker1

By Gerardo Granados: Next December 10 at a venue yet to be determined; top ten contenders Joseph Parker and Andy Ruiz will try to make history by becoming the first ever New Zealander or Mexican heavyweight Champion. It would have been better if they were to challenge the heavyweight Champion of the World Tyson Fury, but as the reader already knows the Gypsy King vacated his titles and won’t be around until maybe fall of 2017. So, for the two top WBO ranked available, Parker and Ruiz, they will get the chance to win a vacant title.

Mexico has a vast boxing tradition; I researched and found a list of 175 world champions, titlist and belt holders. From the straw weight up to the welter weight division we can find many great Mexican fighters. Some of those 175 are multiple division Champions or multiple times one division Champions.

Parker vs. Ruiz Jr = Andy will have it tough on December 10

ruiz

By Eric Baldwin: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum believes in his fighter Andy Ruiz Jr’s chances against unbeaten Joseph Parker (21-0, 18 KOs) in their fight on December 10 for the vacant WBO heavyweight champion. Arum thinks that Ruiz Jr. will beat the 24-year-old Parker to become the first Mexican to win a heavyweight world title.

For Ruiz Jr. (29-0, 19 KOs) to accomplish that goal, he’ll need to improve over the efforts that he’s shown in his fights against Franklin Lawrence, Raphael Zumbano Love and Siarhei Liakhovich.

It would be big deal for Arum if Ruiz Jr. could win the WBO heavyweight title. Arum obviously wouldn’t care that Ruiz Jr. would be merely one of four heavyweight champions, and not the No.1 champion in the division.

Joseph Parker vs. Andy Ruiz ordered for vacant WBO title

parker1

By Scott Gilfoid: The World Boxing Organization has reportedly ordered Joseph Parker (21-0, 18 KOs) vs. Andy Ruiz Jr. (29-0, 19 KOs) fight at their WBO convention in San Juan. The two fighters will fight for the vacant WBO heavyweight title that was recently vacated by champion Tyson Fury.

The winner of the Parker-Ruiz fight would then be required to fight has four months [120 days] to face #4 WBO contender David Haye (28-2, 26 KOs). If Haye chooses not to take the winner of the Parker vs. Ruiz fight, then it would be the next ranked contender in the WBO’s rankings.

Arum wants Parker vs. Ruiz in January

parker1

By Scott Gilfoid: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum expects his fighter Andy Ruiz Jr. (29-0, 19 KOs) to be facing unbeaten Joseph Parker (21-0, 18 KOs) in January rather than December for the vacant World Boxing Organization heavyweight title. The WBO will need to strip current champion Tyson Fury of his title first, but this could be a mere formality at this point.

Arum is in negotiations with Parker’s promoter Dean Lonergan, and says they still have a distance to go in the money for the fight. However, Arum is confident the fight is going to take place. He wants it to take place in January rather than December, because Ruiz Jr. is trained by Abel Sanchez, the same trainer for unbeaten IBF/IBO/WBA/WBC middleweight champion Gennady “GGG” Golovkin.

Joseph Parker wary of Andy Ruiz’s power

parker1

By Patrick McHugh: Unbeaten #1 IBF, #1 WBO heavyweight contender Joseph Parker is flying to Las Vegas, Nevada to being training for what could be a fight for the vacant World Boxing Organization title against unbeaten Andy Ruiz Jr. (29-0, 19 KOs) on December 10. Parker (21-0, 18 KOs) and his management plan on fighting for the WBO title as soon as it’s stripped from champion Tyson Fury, who allegedly tested positive for cocaine on September 22 during VADA’s testing for Fury’s cancelled October 29 rematch against Wladimir Klitschko.

Parker, 24, knows what he’s up against in fighting the hard punching Ruiz Jr., who comes from Imperial, California. Parker sparred with Ruiz Jr. three years ago in 2013, and suffered a bad cut on his mouth after being nailed with a hard shot. Parker said later that no one has ever hit him as hard as Ruiz before.

Joseph Parker leaning towards WBO title

parker1

By Scott Gilfoid: It looks like Joseph Parker (21-0, 18 KOs) will be fighting for the World Boxing Organization heavyweight title in his next fight rather than the IBF strap, which means he’ll either be fighting Andy Ruiz Jr. or Wladimir Klitschko next. Parker looked spectacular last Saturday night in obliterating Alexander Dimitrenko (38-3, 24 KOs) in three rounds in New Zealand.

Eddie Hearn, the promoter for IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, is trying to put together a fight between Joshua and Klitschko. But in doing so, Hearn has left Parker sitting and waiting to see what will happen with that fight. However, Parker and his promoter Dean Lonergan are not going to wait.
