Angulo-Kirkland, Quillin-McEwan: My take on these fights
Alfredo Angulo vs. James Kirkland almost a done deal for November 5th
By Jason Kim: An interesting fight between junior middleweight contender Alfredo Angulo (20-1, 17 KO’s) and James Kirkland (29-1. 26 KO’s) is almost a reality for November 5th, according to the latest boxing news. The only thing the fight needs right now is Kirkland’s signature on the contract and then the fight is good to go on HBO for Cancun, Quintana, Mexico.

Kirkland looks slow and hittable in beating Sharpe
By Dan Ambrose: Junior middleweight James Kirkland (28-1, 25 KO’s) looked a little sharper and more lean in beating Dennis Sharpe (17-8-3, 4 KO’s) by a 1st round TKO on Friday night in a two knockdown fight at the at the Dr. Pepper Ballpark in Frisco, Texas. However, Kirkland showed all the same defensive liabilities as he showed in his 1st round knockout loss to Nobuhiro Ishida last April.

Kirkland vs. TBA on 6/24
By Eric Thomas: The highly hyped but recently exposed James Kirkland (27-1, 24 KO’s) will be returning to the ring on June 24th against a fighter to be named later on Telefutura’s Solo Boxeo Tecate. Kirkland, 27, was stopped in the 1st round in his last bout on April 9th by Nobuhiro Ishida. Kirkland back with Wolf, could be fighting Mayorga next
By Dan Ambrose: The once promising junior middleweight prospect James Kirkland (27-1, 24 KO’s) is reportedly back with his old trainer Ann Wolf and looking to fight 37-year-old Ricardo Mayorga (29-8-1, 23 KO’s) next. Kirkland, 27, looked horrible in his last fight in April, getting stopped in the 1st round by a fast but light hitting Nobuhiro Ishida. Kirkland was flabby looking in the fight and ended up getting knocked down three times before referee Joe Cortez dove on Kirkland while he was on the canvas to prevent him from getting up yet again to continue fighting.
