By Chris Williams: World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KO’s) is reportedly willing to take the Olympic style random blood tests that Floyd Mayweather Jr. wants before he’ll fight Pacquiao, according to the Manila Bulletin. This is a major breakthrough in helping to put together a fight between Pacquiao and Mayweather, as the two fighters were unable to put together a fight in the past because the negotiations stalled when Pacquiao stood firm at wanting the blood tests to stop at 24 days before the fight while Mayweather wanted them to go at least until 14 days.

Arum says Pacquiao wants Mayweather fight – but doesn’t speak about blood testing
By Jason Kim: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum says that his fighter Manny Pacquiao wants to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. However, Arum isn’t speaking about the sticking point that destroyed negotiations for their failed fight in March, namely the Olympic style blood testing. In an article at Boxing Talk, Arum says “I talked to Manny and that’s the fight he wants to happen above all others.” But when asked about the whether Pacquiao has changed his mind about the blood testing for performance enhancing drugs, Arum said “I’m not going to discuss anything regarding anything to the negotiations.”
Arum wants to match Pacquiao against Mayweather on November 6th or the 13th in either Las Vegas or Texas
By Dan Ambrose: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum would like nothing better than to match his fighter World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr. on November 13th in either Las Vegas, Nevada or Texas. Arum has reportedly reserved the MGM Grand, in Las Vegas. Mayweather wants no part of fighting at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which is why Arum has opted to reserve the MGM.
Roach says Khan vs. Mayweather would be a great fight
By Scott Gilfoid: With Floyd Mayweather Jr. showing little interest at the moment in fighting Manny Pacquiao, trainer Freddie Roach is now talking of a bout between his other champion WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan and the unbeaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the near future. In an article by Gareth Davies of The Telegraph, Roach says “Amir is a great student. He absorbs, he listens and wants to learn. Amir has picked things up quicker than Manny Pacquiao. A fight between Amir and Mayweather would be a year and half away. Style-wise, it would be a great fight and I would like Amir to fight him one day, but let’s take care of the guys at 140 first.”
Arum going to work hard on putting together Mayweather-Pacquiao fight
By Chris Williams: With Manny Pacquiao possibly about to end his career in November, his promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank is determined to try and put together a mega fight with undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. In an article by the Associated Press, Arum says “That’s the fight people want to see, and that’s the fight I’m going to do my darnedest to make happen. My first goal is to make that fight happen, but we’re not going to negotiate this thing in the press, because if we do, given the egos, it’s never going to happen.” That’s nice to hear. It’s too bad that it took this long for that to happen.
Mayweather vs. Pacquiao will likely hinge on the drug testing issue
By Dan Ambrose: It’s sad to think that the mega fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao could depend on the random drug blood testing that Mayweather wants for the fight. At this point, there would be many other areas that could stop the fight from being made, such as the revenue split and the $10 million weight penalty that Pacquiao’s team asked to be part of the contract last time out when negotiating with Mayweather.
Mayweather needs to fight Sergio Martinez next
By Dan Ambrose: Undefeated Floyd Mayweather Jr. needs to set his sights on fighting WBC/WBO middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (45-2-2, 24 KO’s) next instead of wasting his time and patience on trying to put together a fight with Manny Pacquiao. Martinez, 35, is reportedly willing to take the random blood tests that Mayweather wants. This is just another, among many, fighters that are willing to agree to the random blood testing that Mayweather wants in order to get a fight with him.
Pacquiao to fight for a final time in November – News
By Chris Williams: World Boxing Organization welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao will fight for a final time in November against either Floyd Mayweather Jr., the winner of the Yuri Foreman vs. Miguel Cotto fight or against Antonio Margarito. The 31-year-old Pacquiao has received permission from his mother to fight one more time and then retire and then focus on his political career as a congressman in the Philippines. Pacquiao said to ABS-CBN “So many fans want me to fight Mayweather, so I asked my mother to allow me to fight one more time, and she said ‘Ok.’ My mother agreed.”
Prediction: Manny Pacquiao Agrees to Drug Testing, Fights Floyd Mayweather Jr.
By Ryan Dunn: Now that Manny Pacquiao has won the congressional seat he spent over $6.5M to secure, and now that Floyd Mayweather Jr. has $40M to fill up his pool and go swimming in, cooler heads should return to the negotiating table to make the fight of the millennium happen.
But there are a few teensy issues to resolve first, right?
Roach: “We are now going to have congressman Pacquiao knock out Floyd Mayweather”
By Chris Williams: Manny Pacquiao’s landslide victory yesterday in the congressional elections in the Philippines has his trainer Freddie Roach excited about the future. In an article at the The Telegraph,, Roach says “We are now going to have congressman Pacquiao knock out Floyd Mayweather.” That all sounds very well, but there’s a couple of problems getting in the way of that happening. First off, Pacquiao would have to likely give in to the unbeaten Mayweather’s demands about the Olympic style random blood testing that he wants before fighting him. And second, there’s the whole question about purse splits and who gets the bigger slice of the revenue.
