Is Bradley, Mayfield or Berto more deserving than Keith Thurman to get Floyd Mayweather Jr?

thurman331211By Gerardo Granados: There has been talk around the internet regarding Tim Bradley as a deserving option for the undisputed, undefeated WBC – WBA – WBO Welterweight Champion of the World Floyd Money Mayweather Jr. for his next fight on September 12th, but to be honest, Bradley, former WBC welterweight belt holder Andre Berto or little known Karim Mayfield deserve a shot at Money more than the undefeated young lion and current “regular” (that means he is not the true organization champion) WBA welterweight belt holder Keith One Time Thurman.

Andre Berto once was perceived as potentially as a welterweight boxer who could have done great things at the division but he slowly faded away after his epic battle against Victor Ortiz back in April 2011 which he lost, having a record of 3 loses one by knockout and 3 wins on his last six.

Arum thinks Mayweather-Pacquiao fight should have been a draw

arum55By Chris Williams: Top Rank promoter Bob Arum thinks his fighter Manny Pacquiao deserved at least a 12 round draw in his fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. on May 2nd. Pacquiao didn’t get a draw though. He got a 12 round unanimous decision loss.

Arum says Pacquiao thinks he won the fight, and with two good arms, he would have made it easy. We don’t know what Pacquiao would have done with two good arms because he went through with the fight with an injured right shoulder.

Mayweather should fight Khan or Rios, says Garcia

khan45677By Dan Ambrose: There are a lot of boxing fans who feel that Andre Berto doesn’t deserve to get the September 12th fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. in Las Vegas, Nevada. Trainer Robert Garcia is one of the many people who don’t want to see Mayweather fight the 31-year-old Berto.

If given the choice, Garcia says Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) should be the one to get the fight. If not him, then he wants Brandon Rios (33-2, 24 KOs) to face Mayweather. But Garcia would want Rios’ promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank to step aside and let Mayweather’s promotional company to do the fight.

Mayweather hasn’t complied with WBO’s rules, will likely be stripped of title on Monday

Floyd MayweatherBy Chris Williams: WBA/WBC/WBO welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26 KOs) has reportedly not complied with the World Boxing Organization’s conditions for him to keep his newly won WBO 147lb title, according to Dan Rafael. As a result, Mayweather will probably be losing his WBO title this Monday.

The WBO gave Mayweather a deadline of July 3rd, at 4:30 p.m. ET to vacate his WBA/WBC junior middleweight titles, and give the WBO a sanctioning fee for the title. If/when the WBO strip Mayweather of his WBO title, they’ll then be giving the full title to interim WBO welterweight champion Tim Bradley.

Pacquiao fires back at Mayweather over Instagram comment

pac009By Chris Williams: Former eight division world champion Manny Pacquiao finally came to life in response to his conqueror Floyd Mayweather Jr’s recent Instagram in which he slapped around a Pacquiao dummy, calling it a liar for the shoulder excuse that Pacquiao came up with after his loss to Mayweather last May.

Pacquiao failed to agree that he lost the fight to Mayweather, and he blamed his poor performance on a preexisting injury to his right shoulder that he failed to disclose before the fight on a medical questionnaire form.

Thurman losing patience with Mayweather

thurman7By Dan Ambrose: After saying earlier this week that he’s willing to wait for as long as it takes for the big fights to come for his career, WBA World welterweight champion Keith Thurman (25-0, 21 KOs) is beginning to show some impatience with WBA/WBC/WBO welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26 KOs), who he’s hoping to fight on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The 26-year-old Thurman badly wants the fight with Mayweather, and likely the huge payday that would come with it. Thurman feels he’s done enough to deserve the fight with Mayweather, even though Thurman’s best win of his career was against Robert “The Ghost’ Guerrero and not against anyone that you can call a true talent.

Mayweather could be stripped of WBO 147lb title on Friday

Floyd Mayweather vs Manny Pacquiao By Dan Ambrose: If boxing’s No.1 superstar fighter Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26 KOs) wants to retain his WBO 147lb title he won off of Filipino Manny Pacquiao last May, then Mayweather will have to fork over $200,000 to the WBO, and give up both of his junior middleweight titles – WBA and WBC. All this has to be done by this Friday or else Mayweather will be stripped of his WBO strap.

I’m not sure that Mayweather is going to grant the WBO their wish because it’s a trinket that Mayweather would be giving up anyway after his next fight in September if he’s serious about wanting to retire at that point.

Mayweather to net between $220M to $230M for Pacquiao fight

Floyd Mayweather vs Manny PacquiaoBy Chris Williams: Welterweight star Floyd Mayweather Jr. will be netting from $220 million to $230 million for his 12 round decision win over Manny Pacquiao on May 2nd of this year in Las Vegas, Nevada, according to ESPN.com. This is pretty close to the $250 million that Mayweather is talking about making from the Pacquiao fight.

Mayweather says he’ll make all total over $500 million for 2015. He’s expected to make over $100 million for his next fight on September 12th, and he still has money coming to him for the Pacquiao fight. $500 million is a lot of green.

Mayweather slaps around Pacquiao dummy

By Chris Williams: On Tuesday, WBA/WBC/WBO welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. confronted a dummy that he used as a prop to get some of his thoughts out about the excuses Filipino star Manny Pacquiao (56-6-2, 38 KOs) came up with after his one-sided 12 round unanimous decision in their fight on May 2nd at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. After Mayweather asked the Pacquiao dummy about his shoulder excuse that he used after his loss to him, Mayweather slapped the Pacquiao twice in the face and then told him to stop telling fibs.

Mayweather’s options for 9/12 are Khan and Berto, says Pugmire

khan5By Scott Gilfoid: It looks Amir “King” Khan (31-3, 19 KOs) isn’t entirely out of the running for a lottery ticket winning fight against WBA/WBA/WBO welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26 KOs) on September 12th in Las Vegas, Nevada.

According to Lance Pugmire, Khan is in the running for the Mayweather fight, as is former IBF/WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto (30-3, 23 KOs). We already knew that Berto was one of the guys that had a chance for the Mayweather fight, but we didn’t know that Khan was being factored in.
