Arena offers Sturm $25 Million to fight for them – News

sturm462439By Erik Schmidt: In an almost absurd offer, the promotional outfit Arena Box, headed by Ahmet Oner, has reportedly offered World Boxing Association middleweight champion Felix Sturm (33-2-1, 14 KO’s) $25 million for a six fight deal to fight for their company. What makes the number seem even more absurd is that Sturm, 30, isn’t considered to be the best middleweight in the division and would be extremely lucky if he were able to get through the six fight contract without getting beaten.

When Is Felix Sturm Going to Fight a Live Opponent?

sturm32334By Jim Dower: After watching World Boxing Association middleweight champion beat yet another weak opponent in Koji Sato by a 7th round stoppage victory last Saturday night in Germany, I’m now almost entirely fed up with Sturm as a fighter and I’m wanting him to lose his title so that we can get a middleweight champion that seeks out some interesting matchups. I don’t mind a champion getting an easy fight every once in a great while, but when it becomes as regular as clockwork, then I’m put off by them and steer clear of their fights.

Sturm Stops Sato, Balzsay Too Much For Masoe

sturm35423By Erik Schmidt: World Boxing Association middleweight champion Felix Sturm (32-2-1, 14 KOs) not surprisingly stopped a badly over-matched (14-1, 13 KOs) in the 7th round tonight at the KonigPalast, in Krefeld, Germany. Sturm, 29, jabbed Sato continuously, rarely getting hit. The referee, having seen enough of the one-way traffic, stepped in and halted the one-sided bout at 2:56 of the 7th round.

Sturm vs. Sato on April 25th

sato434By Erik Schmidt: WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm (31-2-1, 13 KOs) makes his 6th defense of his title on April 25th against his WBA number #14th ranked challenger Koji Sato (14-0, 13 KOs) in a non-mandatory defense at the König Palast, Krefeld, in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. Sturm, 30, following his custom to pick at the bottom of the top 15 field when choosing his non-mandatory opponents, has chosen the hard-punching but terribly inexperienced Sato with whom to fight on the 25th.

Sturm vs. Sato on April 25th

sturm543446By Erik Schmidt: World Boxing Association middleweight champion Felix Sturm (31-2-1, 13 KOs) will be making a non-mandatory defense of his title on April 25th against WBA number #14th ranked middleweight Koji Sato (14-0, 13 KOs) at the KoenigPALAST, Krefeld, in Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. Sturm, 30, will be making his 6th defense of his WBA title against his mostly unknown, little heard of Japanese opponent Sato. Sturm, who competed for Germany in the 2000 Olympics, is following his usual pattern of fighting the bottom of the WBA when taking on a non-mandatory opponent, although it appears that he’s always fighting soft opponents.
