Macklin sees Sturm stopping Murray

Image: Macklin sees Sturm stopping MurrayBy Scott Gilfoid: It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to understand that Britain’s Martin Murray (23-0, 10 KO’s) is out of his depth in his December 2nd world title fight against WBA Super World middleweight champion Felix Sturm (36-2-1, 15 KO’s) when they go at it at the SAP-Arena in Mannheim, Germany.

Martin Murray won’t do any better against Sturm than Macklin did

Image: Martin Murray won't do any better against Sturm than Macklin didBy Scott Gilfoid: It really pains me to say this but I think Martin Murray (23-0, 10 KO’s) won’t do any better against WBA Super World middleweight champion Felix Sturm (36-2-1, 15 KO’s) than Matthew Macklin did last June. Sturm took Macklin’s early onslaught in the first five rounds and then turned up the heat on the exhausted Macklin in the 2nd half of the fight to give the Brit a real beating in winning a 12 round decision.

Macklin wants to fight Sergio Martinez in March 2012, not happy with Sturm rematch offer

By Scott Gilfoid: Middleweight contender Matthew Macklin (28-3, 19 KO’s) is eying a March 2012 against former WBC middleweight champion Sergio Martinez (47-2-2, 26 KO’s) after Macklin received a low rematch offer from World Boxing Association (WBA) Super World middleweight champion Felix Sturm. Supposedly Sturm asked for options on Macklin’s future fights, as much as 40% of his earnings for two years if he were to beat Sturm.

Macklin vs. Sturm II on November 26th in Germany

By Scott Gilfoid: WBA Super World middleweight champion Felix Sturm (36-2-1, 15 KO’s) said in a press release that he’s leaving November 25th or 26th open for a rematch with Macklin. The fighters fought to a 12 round split decision on June 25th with Sturm winning the fight on two of the judges’ scorecards by the scores of 116-112 and 116-112, while the third judge had it 115-113 for Macklin. I had Sturm winning easily by at least four or more rounds.
