Klitschko-Chambers: This is Fast Eddie’s big chance – will he blow it?

Image: Klitschko-Chambers: This is Fast Eddie’s big chance – will he blow it?By Jim Dower: After toiling away for 10 years as a pro, “Fast” Eddie Chambers (35-1, 18 KO’s) will finally get his chance at the big time in a title shot against IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (53-3, 47 KO’s) on March 20th, at the ESPRIT arena, in Düsseldorf, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. The hard work that the 27-year-old Chambers has put in to get to this moment in his career unfortunately won’t be rewarded by having his fight shown on cable to the American public, as the fight won’t be aired by HBO, ESPN or Showtime, the traditional media outlets for boxing in the United States.

Wladimir Klitschko in training camp/quotes for Chambers bout

Image: Wladimir Klitschko in training camp/quotes for Chambers boutGoing/Austria (March 4, 2010) – Wladimir Klitschko (53-3, 47 KOs), of Kiev (Ukraine) and Hamburg (Germany), participated yesterday in a media work out in his training camp in Austria. He discussed his upcoming WBO, International Boxing Federation and IBO heavyweight title defense against WBO-No. 1-ranked mandatory challenger Eddie Chambers (35-1, 18 KOs), of Philadelphia.

The eagerly anticipated heavyweight championship will take place on Saturday, March 20, at ESPRIT arena Düsseldorf, Germany.

Klitschko vs. Chambers: Look for Wladimir to crush Eddie

Image: Klitschko vs. Chambers: Look for Wladimir to crush EddieBy Erik Schmidt: At 6’1” 208, American heavyweight contender Eddie Chambers (35-1, 18 KO’s) would be better suited to fight at cruiserweight rather than fighting against giant heavyweights like the Klitschko brothers. On March 20th, Chambers, 27, fights would could be the best of the two Klitschko brothers when he faces IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (53-3, 47 KO’s) at the ESPRIT arena, Düsseldorf, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany. Wladimir is the faster of the two brothers with true one-punch power.

Wladimir Klitschko looking really bulky for Chambers fight – News

Image: Wladimir Klitschko looking really bulky for Chambers fight - NewsBy Erik Schmidt: With less than three weeks to go before his March 20th fight against American heavyweight contender Eddie Chambers (35-1, 18 KO’s), IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (53-3, 47 KO’s) is looking really bulky, much bigger than usual. In a recent German television program, Klitschko, 33, looked a lot heavier than normal, appearing to weigh above his ordinary weight of 245. Could it be that Klitschko is taking Chambers for granted for this fight? After all, the 6’6” Klitschko will have an enormous height and weight advantage over the 6’1” 209 pound Chambers when they step into the ring on March 20th.

Klitschko vs. Chambers: Which round will Eddie fall?

Image: Klitschko vs. Chambers: Which round will Eddie fall?By William Mackay: More than the usual Wladimir Klitschko bout, his March 20th fight against the smallish American Eddie Chambers (35-1, 18 KO’s) has boring mismatch written all over it. With the 6’1” Chambers, it’s almost impossible to see him even coming close to beating the much bigger and stronger 6’6” Klitschko. It’s not that Wladimir can’t be beaten, because three fighters have proven that he is vulnerable if he gets hit just right. But the problem is that Chambers doesn’t have the size or power to leave Wladimir in a horizontal position like Ross Purity, Corrie Sanders and Lamon Brewster did in the past.

HBO to show Khan-Malignaggi, but not Klitschko-Chambers

Image: HBO to show Khan-Malignaggi, but not Klitschko-ChambersBy Chris Williams: I don’t know about you but I can’t figure out why HBO has opted to show the fight between WBA light welterweight title holder Amir Khan against Paulie Malignaggi on May 15th, yet won’t be showing the March 20th bout between IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko vs. Eddie Chambers. It seems to me that the Klitschko-Chambers fight will be a much more interesting bout than seeing a fight between Khan, who is a virtual unknown in the United States, against the feather-fisted fighter like Malignaggi.

Klitschko-Chambers: Is this fight worth purchasing on PPV?

Image: Klitschko-Chambers: Is this fight worth purchasing on PPV?By Chris Williams: For boxing fans of IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko if they want to see his March 20th fight against challenger “Fast” Eddie Chambers, they’ll have to purchase this on pay-per-view. In this day and age, this isn’t really that much of a shock, as it seems like any halfway decent fighter is thrown on PPV. However, both HBO and ESPN won’t be showing the Klitschko-Chambers fight, so if fans want to see the bout they’ll have to purchase the fight.

Klitschko-Chambers: Can Eddie out-box Wladimir?

Image: Klitschko-Chambers: Can Eddie out-box Wladimir?By Dan Ambrose: Heavyweight contender Eddie Chambers (35-1, 17 KO’s) has great boxing skills and some nice wins going into his title March 20th title fight against International Boxing Federation/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (53-3, 47 KO’s) next month. However, it’s hard to see a case where the 6’1” Chambers will be able to out-box the 6’6” 245 pound Klitschko and win the fight. The bout will be taking place at the large ESPRIT arena, Düsseldorf, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany, where there is expected to be as many as 60,000 fans in attendance.
