There has been talk of Khan facing John Murray. However, that won’t be happening and was just a rumor.

Khan vs. Salita in December? – News

By William Mackay: It’s looking more and more that WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (21-1, 15 KO’s) will be facing Ukrainian born Dimitry Salita (30-0-1, 16 KO’s) in December in a fight that will probably take place in London, England. For boxing fans, this is probably not good news because fans had been hoping that they’d see Khan matched against a higher quality opponent than this, someone like Ricky Hatton, Timothy Bradley, Kendall Holt, or at the very least, Marcos Maidana.

Will Khan Fight Salita Next?

khan5645654By Scott Gilfoid: With all this talk about WBA light welterweight champion Amir Khan (21-1, 15 KO’s) fighting Ricky Hatton or Timothy Bradley, I never for a second believed that it would happen. As it turns out, I’m probably right about my predictions, because the latest boxing news floating around the net is that Khan, 22, will likely face his number #1 mandatory challenger, Ukrainian Dimitry Salita (30-0-1, 16 KO’s) instead of a much more lucrative bout against Hatton.

Boxing News – Salita Defeats Campos, Looks Terrible

By Scott Gilfoid: If you were in need of sleep on Saturday night, all you needed was to watch Dmitriy Salita (29-0-1, 16 KOs) defeat Derrick Campos (17-6, 10 KOs) by a dull 12-round unanimous decision and would you would have been fast asleep by the end of the painfully dull fight.

Salita TKOs Loque

salita43323.jpgBy Eric Thomas: After 29 fights, unbeaten welterweight prospect Dmitry Salita (28-0-1, 16 KOs) is still trying to find his way to top level opposition. Last Thursday’s bout with Fabian Luque (21-7-4, 12 KOs), who Salita stopped in the 5th round of a scheduled 10-round bout at the Roseland Ballroom, in New York City, New York, will hopefully bring the 25 year-old Salita closer to eventually taking on a top tier fighter, if not at least a B-level opponent. Salita, originally from Ukraine and now living in Brooklyn, New York, showed excellent speed and power in the process of knocking down Luque, 30, twice en route to stopping him in the 5th round.

However, Salita’s defense was no where, as he was easily hit with flush right hands by Loque. Worse, however, was that many of the shots that Salita was hit with where telegraphed punches from Loque, who threw long and slow shots that Salita should have been able to pick up or duck. He didn’t, rarely getting out of the way of the few shots that Loque attempted. In the first round, Salita knocked Loque down with a superb right hand in the last seconds of the round. Judging from this shot, and some of the others that Salita landed in the round, he has major power for a welterweight.
