By Sean McDaniel: The proposed bout between International Boxing Organization cruiserweight champion Danny Green (28-3, 25 KO’s) and Bernard Hopkins (50-5-1, 32 KO’s) is in jeopardy of not happening due to money issues between the two fighters, according to Boxing Talk. Gary Shaw, the adviser to Green, said to Boxing Talk “Bernard Hopkins said that he wants a 60-40 deal to fight Danny Green. At any rate, I spoke to Danny Green last night. Danny Green absolutely will not give Hopkins a 60-40 deal. When we were at Richard Schaefer’s office over a week ago, we offered up a 50-50 deal and we’ve been waiting to hear the results for a while now.”

Hopkins may be 46 by the time he fights Haye
By Chris Williams: I hope Bernard Hopkins doesn’t mind waiting around for a long time for a fight with World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye, because by the time that the British fighter is available to fight him, Hopkins may be 46-years-old. Although this might make a mildly intriguing fight for some boxing fans, the problem is that Haye has at least two title defenses he has to get out of the way before he’s available to fight Hopkins.
Hopkins: Heavyweight Ambitions
By Jamie Hooper: Hopkins obviously has something driving him to box well into his forties. His achievements in the middleweight division in the 90’s have not been enough for him. He has developed a “how to box at world class level in your mid forties” style, and it’s definitely a very effective one. Younger boxers are finding their youthful energy and enthusiasm are easily deflected by Hopkins’ wily ring craft. Just ask Kelly Pavlik.
Calzaghe thinks Haye would knock Hopkins out – News
By Scott Gilfoid Joe Calzaghe thinks that Bernard Hopkins should stay away from fighting World Boxing Association heavyweight champion David Haye. In an article at the BBC, Calzaghe had this to say about Hopkins fighting Haye “I think Hopkins should retire, because he is 44 and is going to end up getting hurt. If he fights a big guy like Haye, who is too fast and too strong, he [Hopkins] will end getting knocked out way too quickly. That would be a shame to see as Hopkins is a boxing legend. It is time for him to call it a day.” Wrong, Calzaghe. It’s not time for Hopkins to call it a day.
