By Scott Gilfoid: The World Boxing Association is ready to order champion Anthony Joshua to defend his WBA heavyweight title against mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin. The WBA will be ordering the fight within 24 hours, according to Sky Sports News.
By Scott Gilfoid: WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and his team are prepared to make the fight with IBF/WBA/WBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua as long as minor changes are made in the contract for the fight. According to ESPN, Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel is ready to get the fight done as long as “small changes” are made in the contact by Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Boxing.

Hearn believes that Joshua (21-0, 20 KOs) is the best fighter in the heavyweight division, but he still feels that he needs more than 8 weeks to get ready for Wilder.

Hearn told IFL TV that he’s interested in potentially putting the Joshua-Wilder fight on DAZN. Why Hearn wants to stage Joshua vs. Wilder in Cardiff, Wales is unknown.
