By Mark Uliano: In recent weeks we have seen HBO put on some fights that made the boxing public scratch our heads. Last night we saw Adrien Broner and Vicente Escobedo, a fight that up until hours before the first bell rang we weren’t sure if it was going to happen. After Broner failed to make the agreed on rehydration weight the fight was up in the air until Escobedo finally decided to take more money.

Burns-Mitchell winner may have to face Broner
By Scott Gilfoid: Who ever emerges the victor of the September 22nd fight between WBO lightweight champion Ricky Burns (34-2, 9 KO’s) and #1 WBO Kevin Mitchell (33-1, 24 KO’s) may not have much time to enjoy their title because the World Boxing Organization is going to be making unbeaten Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) the #1 WBO contender and I really don’t see Mitchell or Burns being able to hang with Broner.
Escobedo suffers broken nose and injured arm in Broner fight
By Dan Ambrose: Vincente Escobedo (26-4, 15 KO’s) really took some punishment in his 5th round TKO loss to Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) last Saturday night. Escobedo suffered a broken nose in the 3rd round when he was hit by elbow from Broner, and he also was hit with elbow on his right bicep that made the arm nearly useless to him.
Brandon Rios: I’m not afraid of Broner, but I probably won’t be able to fight him
By Allan Fox: Former WBA World lightweight champion Brandon Rios (30-0-1, 22 KO’s) says he has no qualms about fighting former WBO super featherweight champion Adrien Broner (24-0, 20 KO’s) if the fight were to present itself to him. However, he doesn’t think it’s possible because of the fact he fights for a different promotional company [Top Rank].
Escobedo: Broner is the best fighter I’ve ever faced
By Scott Gilfoid: Vincente Escobedo (26-4, 15 KO’s) paid his respects to Adrien Broner’s huge talent by saying he’s the best fighter he’s ever fought in his career. This comes after Escobedo was destroyed by Broner last Saturday night in a 5th round TKO loss that was televised on HBO and beamed across the United States. Broner definitely showed that he’s got the goods to take over for Floyd Mayweather Jr. when he retires in the near future.
Why Antonio DeMarco would be a test for Adrien Broner
By Hector Gonzalez: Adrien Broner defeated Vincente Escobedo this weekend, although Broner won the fight in spectacular fashion, his victory also raised some eyebrows. Broner walked in 143.5 pounds on Saturday morning and walking in at 147 during the fight. The question that needs to be asked is, “Is Broner simply to big for the 130 division or did he need the extra weight in order to dominate Escobedo?“ It’s a fair question. Here are some thoughts.

Adrien Broner: Believe the Hype
By Liam Smith: Every so often we hear of an athlete who is on their way to super stardom. More often than not word spreads to the point where viewers tune in from all across the globe only to watch them bitterly disappoint. However on the rare occasion that athlete lives up to everything they have been hyped up to be. Adrien Broner is in fact just that.

Merchant: Broner won’t last long at lightweight; he’ll outgrow the division in a year
By Jason Kim: HBO analyst Larry Merchant doesn’t see former WBO super featherweight champion Adrien Broner lasting long at lightweight. Merchant sees this a stop off for the 22-year-old Broner that will likely last only one year before he gets too big for the division with increasing weight and has to move up to light welterweight.
