Mayweather vs. Pacquiao – Unanswered Questions?

floyd72By Elton Jackson: Since the announcement of the fight scheduled for May 2 between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Manny Pacquiao, many have stated their opinions on the fight based on who they favor with no real reasoning.  Sure, it’s fun to trash talk, and it’s a part of the fight game.  However, boxing has much to do with rhythm, timing, and smarts inside the ring.

Manny Pacquiao has displayed his ability to be a ferocious fighter and deliver exciting moments during a fight when he charges in swinging with all his might in an attempt to end the fight by knockout.  This as we know it is how Juan Marquez was able to knockout Pacquiao in their past fight.

Hype or skills?

canelo878By Elton Jackson: What is happening to the sport of boxing? Blind judges, trumpeted up fighters and fighters with real talent but no personality never get a fair shot in the sport. I know, I know, boxing is a business and those who can draw the fans bring money to the sport.

Should “The Ghost” be in the ring with Mayweather?

guerreo991By Mister Jackson: Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero’s boxing record is 31-1-1, sounds very impressive to me and most when looking at the numbers, right?  Well, only two of the fights on his record are at welterweight,  Guerrero has defeated Andre Berto and Selcuk Aydin.

Guerrero should be given credit for facing the challenge of fighting in a higher weight class, because we have all seen other fighters fail when moving up in weight.  Considering the fact that Guerrero jumped up two weight classes and only had two welterweight fights, one has to question how the rankings are handled.
