Richardson Hitchins Accepts Keyshawn Davis Fight, Awaits Contract

By Boxing News 24 Desk - 10/13/2026 - Comments

Richardson Hitchins says he agreed to face Keyshawn Davis more than a month ago, contradicting Davis’ claim that he only just agreed to their planned December bout. Hitchins states the paperwork has still not arrived.

Keyshawn has spent the week hyping up his plans for fight night. Hitchins insists nothing is real until promotional teams deliver actual contracts.

“I accepted this fight over a month ago still no contract or anything official I’m still waiting for a contract and time is fucking ticking Keyshawn,” Hitchins posted on X.

That timeline cuts directly into the narrative Davis presented online. Davis made it sound like Hitchins stalled before giving in. Hitchins argues the delay sits entirely with the business side.

“Buddy finally accepted the fight.. this fight in December, this sh*t personal. Africa, I’m on yo ass in December, and I’m gonna beat yo ass,” Davis said.

Trash talk builds interest, but the bout still needs signatures. Hitchins and Davis represent two of the elite talents around the welterweight limit. On pure ring ability, they sit above most rivals, which makes the pairing significant regardless of social media squabbling.

Hitchins controls range behind a stiff jab. He rarely surrenders clean targets. Opponents who charge him blindly spend full rounds eating counters from outside.

Davis brings fast hands, heavy body work, and sharp punch selection. He must apply disciplined pressure. Following Hitchins without cutting off the ring will cost him rounds on the scorecards.

The central tactical issue comes down to style. Keyshawn needs to impose his tempo. Hitchins aims to make opponents second-guess their timing and reset from distance. Both possess the technical sharpness to punish miscalculations.

Before strategy and tactics, promoters must produce the paperwork. Hitchins insists he signed off on the bout weeks ago. With December fast approaching, the matchup remains talk until the contracts land.

Both guys carry themselves like established pound-for-pound attractions, but neither draws genuine ticket sales or pay-per-view numbers on his own. Hitchins has an Olympic pedigree and slick defensive fundamentals, yet his style often alienates casual fans, and his biggest career win is a controversial nod over Gustavo Lemos. Keyshawn Davis has real offensive talent, but he is still largely living off Olympic silver medal hype.
