Repeat or Revenge? Dubois vs Wardley 2

The first fight was a classic, and the rematch is guaranteed to be equally entertaining, as the WBO world heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois (23-3, 22 KOs) will defend his title against Fabio Wardley (20-1-1, 19 KOs).

Wardley wants to avenge his loss, while Dubois plans on making a successful title defense. The action is set to take place on Saturday, October 17th at London’s O2 Arena, live on DAZN PPV.

The first fight between Wardley and Dubois took place in Manchester, England in May 2026. Wardley was coming off an upset victory over Joseph Parker while Dubois was entering the fight after a disappointing loss to Oleksandr Usyk.

Wardley scored the first knockdown ten seconds into the bout when he landed an overhand right. With 1:46 remaining in the third round, Wardley landed another overhand right that sent Dubois back down to the canvas.

After the third round, Daniel Dubois took over the fight by using his jab to set up his power shots. In the sixth round, the damage caused by the right hand of Dubois became visible, as blood was flowing out of Wardley’s nose.

In the 7th round, Dubois and Wardley closed the round out by standing in the pocket and trading heavy shots. With 53 seconds remaining in the 9th, Wardley connected with a solid right hand, and then Dubois started dictating the action.

Dubois proceeded to land a flurry of devastating punches. Seconds later, Dubois closed out the ninth round by landing a powerful right hand that knocked Wardley off balance as it looked like Wardley was out on his feet.

Wardley showed a lot of courage while suffering more damage to his nose and face in the 10th. After witnessing Dubois connect with a hard right hand early in the 11th, the referee decided to step in and put a halt to the contest.

With the victory, Daniel Dubois became a two-time heavyweight world champion. Now in the rematch, Fabio Wardley will attempt to avenge his loss and join Dubois in obtaining the status of two-time heavyweight champion.

As we saw in the first fight, both boxers possess a powerful punch, but Dubois holds advantages in skill set and overall boxing experience. Despite losing the first fight, Wardley feels confident he will be successful on October 17th.

Fabio Wardley says he and his team took the time to identify what he did wrong in the first fight, and during the course of his training camp they have made the adjustments.

On Saturday, October 17th, the Queensberry Promotions main event features the return match between two incredible warriors. The fight is guaranteed to be entertaining and crowd-pleasing. The only question is, will it be a repeat or revenge?
