On the night of September 2nd, as guests on The Rize Podcast, Chrisean Rock and her opponent, Ku’Shiyah Williams, finally got the chance to meet and interact with each other by way of video chat.
Chrisean and her opponent are new to the game as both boxers are ready to make their pro debuts. The action is set to take place on Saturday night, September 19th, at the Hyatt Regency in Baltimore, Maryland, streaming live on BLK Prime.
Recently, the Skyy Myles Promotions event entitled ‘The Supper’ had its first press conference. When asked about her opponent, Chrisean said, “I’m knocking her out, that’s it.”
When members of the media asked for her opponent’s name, Coach Calvin Ford said the name, but when Chrisean tried to repeat the name it didn’t come out right. “Shila what? Ku…, here,” Chrisean said as she passed the mic to Mia Ellis.
On the Rize Podcast Ku’Shiyah Williams addressed the name issue when she said, “I still feel some kinda way cause I don’t like how Rock, she act like she didn’t know how to pronounce my name. Everybody else pronouncing it right. I got some business on that ya heard me.”
The North Carolina native Ku’Shiyah Williams describes herself as a natural-born athlete who used to play basketball in high school. She’s excited about the event, and she said when she comes to Baltimore she’s going to put belt to a**.
As soon as Chrisean Rock joined the chat, Williams brought up the name issue. “I’m going to need for you to pronounce my name right. I been waiting for you to get up in here,” Williams said.
Initially, Chrisean joined the chat in a peaceful and respectful manner, but when she noticed her opponent’s aggressive energy, she had to address it. “Check this out, I don’t really trash talk for real, I just hope you in the gym, that’s it, ya feel me,” Chrisean said.
When it comes to being in the gym, Chrisean Rock has been very public with her training as she live streams segments of it on Kick. Ku’Shiyah Williams has been private with her preparation in regards to not posting workout videos.
Williams said she’s been boxing for two years, but apparently she keeps everything private. When asked about her fighting style, Williams avoided answering the question of being orthodox or southpaw, but if you look her up on BoxRec, it has her listed as a southpaw.
Chrisean Rock is a popular public figure who is taking boxing seriously, and on September 19th she wants to put on for her city and make a definitive statement. Ku’Shiyah Williams knows she is the underdog, and she plans on coming to Baltimore and producing the massive upset.
