Tim Bradley Reveals Why Tim Tszyu Didn’t Finish Errol Spence Jr.

The Hall of Famer believes Tszyu showed compassion instead of forcing a damaging stoppage once Spence’s decline became clear.

Tim Bradley believes Tim Tszyu chose restraint over a violent finish during his victory over Errol Spence Jr. Bradley said Tszyu recognized Spence was no longer the same fighter and deliberately avoided piling on unnecessary punishment.

“I got to give my respect to Tim Tszyu, man. I think everybody got to give that man respect. If y’all saw what I saw last night, I’m sure y’all saw exactly what I saw. I saw a man inside that ring that showed compassion for our brother, man,” said Bradley on his channel. “He showed compassion for Spence. He could have turned that up. He could have turned it up and got him up out of there, man. But he had so much respect for Errol Spence. You can see it in his eyes and even in his voice talking about him afterward. Tim had a lot more left. A lot more left.”

Bradley pointed to Spence’s compromised balance, reflexes, and movement as proof that a long career and extended layoff had caught up with the former unified champion. Seeing those warning signs, Tszyu modified his approach rather than pushing for a dramatic end.

Tszyu also praised Spence after the fight, focusing on his opponent’s overall career instead of gloating over his own victory.

Bradley maintained deep respect for Spence despite the defeat, calling him a Hall of Famer who never avoided dangerous fights. He believes Tszyu deserves credit for the win and for showing restraint when the fight was clearly in hand.
