Ryan Garcia responds to Conor Benn: “I’m ending you”

Garcia dismissed Benn’s latest social-media taunt as the rivalry intensified before their expected WBC welterweight championship fight

Ryan Garcia wasted little time responding after Conor Benn taunted him on social media ahead of their planned September title fight. The WBC welterweight champion dismissed Benn’s comments and promised to settle everything inside the ring.

Benn celebrated England’s victory over Mexico before turning his attention to Garcia, writing that both football and the WBC title would soon be “coming home” to England.

Ryan rejected the idea that national pride or outside support would matter once they step into the ring.

The exchange is the latest in an increasingly personal rivalry between the two fighters as they prepare for their expected clash on September 12 in Las Vegas.

Ryan won the WBC welterweight title earlier this year in February against Mario Barrios and will be looking to make the first defense of his championship against Benn, who is aiming to become a world champion after moving up from the welterweight contender ranks.

While promotional details are still being finalized, both fighters have continued trading verbal shots online, adding to the anticipation surrounding one of boxing’s biggest scheduled fights of 2026.

A clip of Benn working out on the mitts was posted online this week, and he looks like he’s putting max effort into every punch. The stoppage streak ended back in 2022. Since then, the devastating power that defined his early rise has completely vanished.

When a fighter starts throwing with 100% maximum effort on the mitts and loading up on every single punch, it screams compensation. He is burning energy trying to manufacture the natural, effortless power that used to be there before the knockout streak dried up in 2022.

Against a fighter with the kind of elite, twitchy counterpunching speed that Ryan Garcia possesses, that extra split second of loaded-up preparation is an absolute lifetime.

If you are loading up against less-than-elite opposition and still not getting them out of there, doing it against a sharp counterpuncher is just asking for trouble. Garcia is going to see those heavy, telegraphed shots coming from a mile away.
