Kristian Prenga Warns Anthony Joshua: Forget Tyson Fury

The Albanian heavyweight says Joshua’s career is fading and insists Saturday’s Riyadh fight ends any talk of a Fury showdown.

Kristian Prenga says Anthony Joshua should stop thinking about Tyson Fury because he expects to upset the former heavyweight champion in Riyadh on Saturday. Prenga believes Joshua’s career has declined and insists the comeback ends with him.

“AJ is a great fighter, brother. He have everything. But now I think it’s his career. It’s done. I think his career right now it’s worse than it’s ever been. So it’s in the downhill,” said Prenga to Ring Magazine.

“I don’t know if I retired, but I’m going to win the fight.”

Prenga says that the attention surrounding a possible Joshua-Tyson Fury fight is premature.

“It’s not good to make a plan before God. Only God can make a plan for you and for me and for everybody. Before fighting Tyson Fury, first he needs to fight me. How he know what’s going on with me? I’m going to cancel the fight,” said Prenga.

“I don’t care for this. I think it’s better for me because people say it’s nobody. But we’re going to see Saturday who I am.”

When asked if he envisions a knockout victory, Prenga said:

“Yes.”

Prenga has embraced the role of underdog throughout fight week. Instead of objecting to the lack of attention, he sees it as an advantage and believes Saturday will give him the chance to change opinions with a victory over one of boxing’s biggest names.

Joshua is trying to climb back into heavyweight title contention following his 2024 knockout loss to Daniel Dubois. Although he returned to the ring last December to stop Jake Paul, that victory came against a celebrity crossover rather than a top-tier heavyweight contender.

Prenga insists the former champion must clear the hurdle in front of him on Saturday before anyone can start planning his next big fight.
