Bill Haney Claims Keyshawn Davis ‘Has Gone Missing’

With the negotiation deadline closing in, Bill Haney accused Keyshawn Davis of going silent while a WBO-ordered purse bid edged closer. The two camps still have time to reach a private agreement before Monday’s hearing in Puerto Rico.

“Keyshawn Davis has gone missing with millions on the table for his team and family,” Bill Haney posted on X. “Latest update: Still looking for the businessman.”

The WBO ordered Devin Haney to make his first defense against Davis after elevating him to full welterweight champion. If the camps do not finalize terms before Monday’s deadline, the fight will head to a purse bid at WBO headquarters in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Under the WBO order, the winning bid would be split 75 percent to Haney as champion and 25 percent to Davis as the mandatory challenger. The organization has set a minimum bid of $200,000, although the sides remain free to reach their own agreement before the scheduled hearing.

Bill Haney’s latest post appears aimed at increasing the pressure with little time left on the negotiating clock. Rather than discussing specific terms, he questioned Keyshawn Davis’ willingness to complete a deal while portraying the challenger as absent during one of the biggest business opportunities of his career.

No agreement between the camps has been announced, leaving Monday’s purse bid on course unless a deal is reached beforehand, with time still remaining.
