Emanuel Navarrete unified the WBO and IBF super featherweight titles with an 11th-round TKO over Eduardo Nunez, the stoppage coming one second into the round after sustained damage.
Navarrete controlled the fight with pressure and volume, while Nunez struggled to match the strength and reach, suffering a cut under his right eye in the fifth that worsened and bled heavily in the 10th. The ringside physician halted the bout before round 12, giving Navarrete the win in a fight that grew increasingly one-sided down the stretch.
Emiliano Vargas passed his toughest test to date, stopping Agustin Ezequiel Quintana via TKO after nine rounds in their scheduled 10-round super lightweight bout. Vargas seized command in the middle rounds, setting his feet and letting combinations go while digging to the body. Quintana’s face began to swell as he absorbed clean shots, and the referee stepped in before the 10th round could begin. Vargas improves to 17-0 with 14 knockouts, while Quintana falls to 22-3-1 after protesting the stoppage.
Abel Ramos handed previously unbeaten Tahmir Smalls his first professional loss, earning a split-decision victory after 10 rounds in their welterweight bout. Ramos closed strong behind steady body work and late-round pressure, taking two cards by scores of 98-92 and 97-93, while Smalls was awarded a 96-94 tally. The win keeps Ramos in the mix at 147 pounds, while Smalls drops to 16-1 after suffering his first setback as a pro.
Arturo Cardenas and Jordan Martinez fought to a 10-round split draw in a competitive super bantamweight bout, with Cardenas retaining his WBC Continental Americas title.
Martinez came out fast and forced the pace early, but Cardenas adjusted with sharper counters, uppercuts, and steady body work to pull the fight back into the balance as the rounds closed. One judge scored it 98-92 for Martinez, another had it 96-94 for Cardenas, and a third saw it even at 95-95 in a tight fight with no knockdowns.
