Tonight: Zayas vs Baraou Live Results From Puerto Rico

Xander Zayas (23-0, 13 KOs) became a unified super welterweight champion with a split decision over Abass Baraou (17-2, 9 KOs), a result clearer in the ring than on one scorecard. Two judges scored it 116-112 for Zayas, one controversially the other way, a verdict Baraou himself rejected afterward. Zayas controlled the early rounds with footwork, a busy lead hand, and sharp punch selection, keeping Baraou stuck behind a high guard and out of range.

Baraou found sporadic success with the right hand from round five, but his output lagged. Zayas stayed mobile, picked spots, and managed exchanges late. Trading willingly in the twelfth, he closed the fight with authority and composure, adding the WBA belt to his WBO reign.

Juanmita López De Jesús (5-0, 2 KOs) outworked Conner Goade (8-5-2, 7 KOs) over six super flyweight rounds, sweeping the cards 60-53. Cut over the left eye, López still threw with full force, loading right hands and digging to the body. Goade stayed game but absorbed punishment. López’s mechanics remain raw, yet the aggression and engine mark him as a developing pressure fighter.

Carlos De Leon Castro (7-0, 6 KOs) closed strong, stopping Diuhl Olguin (17-48-7, 10 KOs) in round six at 1:31 of their super featherweight fight. An overhand right caught Olguin standing, forcing the referee to step in after sustained punishment. Earlier, Yadriel Caban (3-0, 3 KOs) needed just 1:46 to finish Jeremis Hernandez-Torres (2-3, 0 KOs). Caban dropped him with a straight right upstairs, then a left hook to the body, ending the super flyweight fight before the count.

Yadriel Caban (3-0, 3 KOs) continued his fast start as a professional, stopping Jeremis Hernandez-Torres (2-3, 0 KOs) in the first round of their scheduled four-round super flyweight fight. The end came at 1:46. Caban dropped Hernandez-Torres early with a straight right hand to the head, establishing control immediately. A sharp left hook to the body sent him down again moments later. Hernandez-Torres struggled to recover, showing little resistance after the second knockdown. The referee stepped in before the count finished.

Euri Cedeño (14-0-1, 12 KOs) dominated Etoundi William (16-3, 12 KOs) over ten middleweight rounds, scoring two first-round knockdowns with a right hook and sustained head shots before cruising behind the jab and clean combinations. Judges scored it 100-88 across the board, reflecting total control.

Opening the broadcast, Giovani Santillan (35-1, 18 KOs) outboxed Courtney Pennington (17-12-3, 7 KOs) over ten super welterweight rounds, using pressure, body work, and sharper counters to take a clear decision. Scorecards read 98-92, 97-93, and 96-94.
