Teofimo Lopez (22-2, 13 KOs) started fast but was quickly outboxed as Shakur Stevenson (25-0, 11 KOs) took control with speed, timing, and a sharp jab.Stevenson settled early, froze Lopez with counters, and dictated range through the opening rounds. Lopez forced pace without success, reaching and getting picked off. His best work came briefly in the eighth with body shots. Otherwise, Stevenson stayed sharp, accurate, and disciplined. Lopez bled, ran out of ideas, and absorbed clean shots late. Judges scored it 119-109 across the board for Stevenson, now Ring Magazine and WBO super lightweight champion.
Keyshawn Davis (14-0, 10 KOs) stopped Jamaine Ortiz (20-3-1, 10 KOs) late in their super lightweight fight after controlling tempo, range, and pace from the opening bell. Davis boxed sharply behind the jab, using speed and footwork to deny Ortiz clean entries through the early rounds. Ortiz stayed fit and patient but struggled to land with authority. Davis began pressing in the second half, mixing body work with straight shots upstairs. A left to the body dropped Ortiz in round eleven, confirming control. Ortiz fought on in survival mode. Another body shot in the final round forced a second knockdown, prompting a stoppage with twelve seconds left. Davis showed discipline, stamina, and a growing finishing instinct against a durable opponent.
Bruce Carrington (17-0, 10 KOs) stopped Carlos Castro (30-4, 14 KOs) in round nine to win the vacant WBC featherweight title after a demanding, uneven fight built on control and recovery. The opening rounds were cautious, Carrington prodding with a stiff jab and sharp feet while Castro searched for timing. Carrington increased output in the third, then absorbed heavy right hands in rounds four and five that forced him backward. Castro found moments when he closed range, but Carrington regained discipline, reestablished the jab, and limited exchanges. In the ninth, a clean right hand landed flush, followed by sustained combinations that dropped Castro heavily. He could not rise. Carrington showed composure, punch selection, and durability at championship pace.
Jarrell Miller labored to a 10 round split decision win over Kingsley Ibeh in a heavyweight clash. The scores were 94-96 for Ibeh, 97-93, and 97-93 for Miller. This was not vintage stuff by Miller, who looked out of shape and sluggish all the way through.
Austin “Ammo” Williams defeated replacement opponent Wendy Toussaint by a wide 10 round unanimous decision in a super middleweight bout. Ammo floooed Toussaint with a right uppercut in round four. The scores were 98-91, 99-90, and 99-90.
Ziyad Almaayouf (7-1-1, 1 KO) opened the night fast, snapping treble jabs, controlling range, and scoring a first-round knockdown on Kevin Castillo (6-2-1, 0 KOs) with a right hand. Then discipline slipped. Castillo adjusted, timed right hands, and hurt Almaayouf in round three. The Saudi fighter stayed upright but static, head on line, losing exchanges. Castillo pressed, outworked him, and earned a clear upset. Judges scored it 78-73 and 77-74 twice in the super lightweight fight.
