Amanda Serrano retained her unified WBA and WBO featherweight titles with a unanimous decision victory over Reina Tellez on Saturday night at the Coliseo Roberto Clemente, San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Serrano controlled the fight with steady pressure and volume, working consistently to the body and forcing Tellez backward for long stretches. Tellez landed counters early but was unable to maintain the pace as the rounds progressed. Serrano separated herself in the second half of the fight and closed strongly.
The judges scored the bout 98 92 and 97 93 twice. Tellez missed weight and was ineligible to win the titles.
In the co feature, Stephanie Han retained her WBA lightweight title with a technical decision win over Holly Holm.
Han applied steady pressure and controlled the action through the middle rounds. Holm found moments with straight left hands but struggled to sustain offense. A clash of heads in the seventh round opened a cut on Han, and the bout was stopped after a ringside examination.
Han was awarded the technical decision by scores of 69 65, 69 64, and 68 65.
