Several years ago, this writer did an article on ‘My Three Sons’ by their father, Bozy Ennis. Reminded me of the TV show Fred McMurray’s ‘My Three Sons’!
His oldest son, Derek ‘Pooh’ Ennis, 24-5-1 with 13 knockouts, won both the PA and IBF USBA Super Welterweight titles. Both ‘Pooh’ and ‘Bozy’ were inducted into the PAB HOF.
Brother Farah Ennis, 22-2 with 12 knockouts, won the NABF Super Middleweight title.
At present, Philadelphia’s best teacher-trainer, ‘Bozy’ Ennis, has three world champions he works with, including his son, IBF and WBA World Welterweight champion Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis, 34-0 with 30 knockouts.
Ennis won the IBF World title, stopping David Avanesyan, 30-4-1, in July of 2024. In April of 2025, he added the WBA title, knocking out Eimantas Stanionis, 15-0.
Ennis also trains another Philadelphia WBC World Featherweight champion in Stephen ‘Scooter’ Fulton, 23-1 with eight knockouts. He is the former WBC and WBO World Super Bantamweight champion.
In January of 2021, Fulton won the WBO World Super Bantamweight title, defeating Angelo Leo. He added the WBC World title at Super Bantamweight, then unbeaten Brandon Figueroa. He won the WBC World Featherweight title defeating the then WBC Interim World Featherweight champion Figueroa.
Ennis added a third world champion in IBF and IBO World Super Welterweight champion Oshae Jones, 8-0 with 3 knockouts. In November, Jones won a split decision over IBF and IBO Super Welterweight champion Belgium’s Femke Hermans, 18-3, in Atlanta, GA.
