Bill Haney Unleashes Tirade on Jermall Charlo After ‘Wash’ Comment Targeting Devin Haney

Bill Haney was crashing out on X in response to Jermall Charlo telling Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero to “wash” Devin Haney as he did against Ryan Garcia last Friday, then he would be “washed” with his career in sorry shape. In reaction to those words, Bill went on a tirade, saying that the former two-division world champion Jermall wasted his career on marijuana and alcohol. He says Devin made more money and achieved more in his career than he did.

A Shell of Himself

Despite winning, Haney (32-0, 15 KOs) looked like a textbook example of an over-the-hill, faded fighter last Friday in his fight against Jose Ramirez at Times Square in New York City. The performance was easily the worst of the entire event, which said a lot because Ryan Garcia and Teofimo Lopez also looked dreadfully poor.

All three spoiled millionaires fought like they were just there for the paycheck. In Haney’s case, he has an excuse because he was coming off a bad beating from a pumped-up looking Ryan last year in April. That version of Garcia looked like he could level a mountain with his shots.

Those shots took something out of Haney, leaving the broken shell that ran around the ring all night against Ramirez. Bill can do nothing about Devin other than steer him toward the cash-out fight against Kingry, and then maneuver him like he’d done to build his record. The way Haney looked last Friday against Jose is probably a permanent situation. Bill isn’t a magician, and he doesn’t have a magic wand to bring him back to the way he was pre-Ryan fight.

“Jermall Charlo blew his whole career on bud and alcohol. Now he’s talking about Devin Haney, 26, who got more money and more accomplishments than two [N-word] named Charlo,” said Bill Haney on X, reacting to Jermall Charlo telling Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero to fight Devin Haney and end his career.

Instead of thrashing Jermall, Bill should have volunteered to let his son, Devin, challenge Rolly for his WBA secondary title. The money would be good, and he could prove that he’s not on the verge of being washed. It’s doubtful that Bill would do that because with Rolly’s power, he’d finish off what’s left of Haney’s career for good.
