WBA lightweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis (30-0, 28 KOs) got a gift 12 round majority draw against the underdog Lamont Roach (25-1-2, 10 KOs) in front of a sold out crowd of unhappy fans at the end of the night on Saturday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Referees Blunder
The referee contributed to the fight’s outcome by waving off a knockdown in the ninth, when Gervonta took a knee after getting tagged by a right hand thrown right down the pipe by Roach.
After the fight, Tank Davis said he felt he pulled out the victory in the last three rounds. However, those were Roach’s best rounds of the battle, as he was hitting Davis at will with shots, frustrating him and getting the fans amped up.
The scores
115-113 – Tank Davis
114-114
114-114
It’s got to be the worst robbery I’ve ever seen. Roach schooled Tank from A to B, making him look like a rank amateur tonight, countering him at every opportunity. When things looked bleak for Davis in the championship rounds, he resorted to cheating, hitting Roach on the back, shouldering and throwing low blows.

Final Punch Stats
Tank Davis: 103 of 279 for a 37% connect rate
Lamont Roach: 112 of 400 for a 28%
I never seen someone take a knee and they don’t count it as a knock down. Must of forgot the rules for tonight.
