Super featherweight prospect Curmel Moton says he will return to the ring for his fourth pro fight on the Canelo Alvarez vs Jaime Munguia undercard on May 4th in Las Vegas. The card will be shown on Amazon Prime and DAZN PPV.

Spotlight on Moton: Time to Shine on PPV

It’s still too early to know who the 17-year-old Moton will be fighting at this point because he just got added. Ideally, Moton will be put on the PPV portion of the Canelo – Munguia card so that more boxing fans can get a glimpse of the young fighter.

Putting him on the preliminary card will prevent many fans from seeing him because many of them focus on just the main portion of the card while ignoring the preliminary portion of events.

He’s coming off an eight-round unanimous decision over Anthony Cuba on the Tim Tszyu vs. Sebastian Fundora card on Prime Video PPV on March 30th. That was the first time the one-year pro Moton had gone the distance, and he looked great.

“I’m definitely the first version of me. I’m not Floyd. I’m not Tank. I’m Curmel Moton. It’s a compliment to me because Floyd and Tank are great fighters, and they compare them to me, but I’m Curmel, and I’m going to make my own legacy,” said super featherweight Curmel Moton to Champside.

“I heard Floyd sent him a contract. They tried to get in touch with Eddie Hearn, but I think they turned it down,” said Moton about Leigh Wood.

Eyes on the Future: Challenges and Opportunities Ahead

It will be interesting to see how long Moton can stay at Super Featherweight before he outgrows the division. At 5’2″, Moton could have problems if he fails to get any taller because if he moves up to 135 and 140, he’s going to be facing many guys who are much taller than him. Many of them can punch, and he’ll get hit a lot in those weight classes.

It’ll be disappointing if Moton’s promoter, Floyd Mayweather Jr., lines him up with a title and protects him the way many feel he’s done with Gervonta Davis for many years by ensuring he stays away from talented fighters. Moton is capable of beating the best without being protected by Floyd and having his career stunted.
