Devin Haney promises to knock out challenger Ryan Garcia this Saturday night, April 20th, in their headliner on DAZN PPV at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
With the prices of tickets and PPV, it would be in Haney’s best interest to try and entertain the fans by at least attempting to score a knockout of Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs). People want Haney to brawl with Ryan, even if it doesn’t go well for him. If Haney gets knocked out, he can still make excellent money in a rematch.
Where’s the Punch?
Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) hasn’t knocked anybody out in five years since 2019, and his power hasn’t improved since moving up to 140. Of course, that could result from him draining 25 lbs from 165.
When a fighter loses that much weight, it has a detrimental effect on their power. The norm for fighters to lose weight is 10 lbs, not 25+, like Haney.
What he’s doing is weight-bullying stuff to fight well beneath his natural weight class to take advantage of his size.
If Haney were cutting just 10 lbs, he would have to fight in the 154-lb division against guys who can really punch. It’s safe to say that Haney’s career would evaporate almost immediately.
The Hamptons Dreaming
Haney is always talking about buying an expensive mansion in the Hamptons in New York, whose houses are ultra-expensive where numerous billionaires live, and you can’t afford to buy unless you have the BIG dough.
Bill Haney: “So, all the realtors tap in. Devin is ready to buy one of them nice [places in New York]. Do you want to buy a penthouse around here, champ? What are you looking for,” said Bill on social media.
Devin Haney: “I might go over to the Hamptons and get me one of the mansions in the Hamptons [in New York].”
Bill: “We’re going to buy property in New York. It’s the East Coast takeover,”
Haney: “We ain’t talking about Teofimo. We’re talking about Devin Haney.”
Will Haney Deliver on Knockout Prediction?
Bill: “Is Ryan’s back going to touch the canvas on 4/20?”
Haney: “I guarantee. I promise you, I’m knocking Ryan out. You’re going to see that I’m levels above this dude. Like I said, he’s a C-level fighter. I’m an A+ fighter, and I’m going to show it.”
Bill: “You’ve never let me down, champ. I already know you’re going to deliver. Ryan Garcia, we’re in town, and Devin is going to put you on your back on 4/20 at the Barclays.”
