Boxing Results: Anderson and Ajagba Win in Texas!

In the Main Event WBC USA and WBO Int’l Heavy Jared “The Real Big Baby” Anderson, 17-0 (15), #250.9, of Toledo, OH, former WBA Cruiser champ Ryad Merhy, 32-2 (26), #235.6, of Brussels, BELG, 10 rounds.

In the first round it was all Anderson with Merhy landing a total of two punches. In the second round the fans started booing halfway through the round due to lack of action especially from Merhy who seems to be in for a payday not a win. In the fourth round Anderson continues fighting southpaw for the most part.

The booing continues. Merhy waits until the ten second warning bell sounds again to throw a pair of punches.

In the fifth round Merhy continues walking around with his hands up throwing nothing in return. In the sixth round the fans are yelling “fight, fight, fight!” Anderson landed 69 punches to 21 punches by Merhy after six rounds landed.

In rounds seven and eight the sparring session continued. For some reason Anderson, the only one throwing punches, mostly jabs doesn’t go to the body.

In the tenth and final round Merhy comes out and threw two punches. Halfway through the round Merhy landed his first right to the chin of Anderson. With thirty seconds remaining Merhy landed a three punch combination. At the bell he was following Anderson to Anderson’s corner before he realized it was the wrong one. Referee was Lee Rogers.

Scores 100-90 twice and 99-91. 100-90 KH.

In the Co-Main Event Olympian and WBC Silver Heavy champ Efe “The Silent Ruler” Ajagba, 20-1 (14), #241.2, of Ughelli, NIG, Stafford, TX, won a disputed decision over Guido “The Gladiator” Vianello, 12-2-1 (10), #244.5, of Roma, IT, Las Vegas, NV, over10 sloppy rounds.

In the first round it was sloppy but Vianello out landed Ajagba who hardly landed a punch. In the second rounds final seconds Vianello landed a right on the chin rocking Ajagba who at the bell went to the wrong corner after almost being pushed out of the ring.

In the third round Vianello continued out working Ajagba. In the fourth round Ajagba finally started landing punches. With twenty seconds remaining Ajagba rocked Vianello with a right on the chin.

In the fifth rounds final seconds Vianello had Ajagba looking like his head was in a bee hive trying to slip punches losing another round.

In the sixth and seventh rounds Vianello out landed Ajagba. In the eighth round Ajagba turned southpaw but it didn’t help much.
In the tenth round both were near exhaustion at the bell from wrestling with one another.

Scores were 96-94 with two to Ajagba. 97-93 Vianello KH.

Three-time Olympian, 2016 Gold Medalist and 3-time world challenger Robson “Nino” Conceicao, 18-2-1 (9), #131.6, of Salvador, BRZ, stopped Jose Ivan Ortiz, 15-2-1 (5), #131.5, of Ensenada, Baja Ca, MEX, at 2:27 of round seven of a scheduled 8 rounds.

In the first three rounds Conceicao had a slight edge. In the fourth rounds final seconds Conceicao rocked Ortiz with a right uppercut on the chin followed by a forearm.

In the fifth and sixth rounds Conceicao continued out landing Ortiz. In the seventh round Conceicao landed a body shot dropping Ortiz for an 8-count from Referee Jon Schorle. Seconds later three punches with the last one on the back from Conceicao and down went Ortiz finally stopped by referee Schorle.

WBC No. 2 ranked southpaw Ruben “Drac” Villa, 22-1 (7), #125.6, of Salinas, CA, defeated southpaw Christian “Lacandonsito” Cruz, 22-7-1 (11), #125.1, of Tijuana, Baja Ca, MEX, over 10 rounds, for the WBC Silver Feather title.

In the first round it was foul filled for the most part by both fighters. In the second rounds final seconds Cruz had Villa hurt. From the third through the sixth round it went back and forth with Villa having an edge. At the end of the eighth round Cruz rocked Villa with a right uppercut.

In the ninth round it went back and forth with Villa getting the best of it. In the tenth and final round Villa looked like the winner.

Referee Jon Schorle. Scores 98-92 twice, 97-93 and KH.

Light southpaw Abdullah Mason, 13-0 (11), #134.6, of Cleveland, OH, stopped Ronal “Triple R” Ron, 14-6 (11), #134.7, of Caracas, VZ, Chino Hills, CA, at 1:02 of the fourth round of a scheduled 8 rounds.

In the first round after a minute a lead left from southpaw Mason on the chin dropped Ron for an 8-count from Referee Laurence Cole. Ron looked ready to go but for some reason Mason never followed up.

In the second round after Mason’s father-trainer let him have it between rounds Mason came out landed a pair of left uppercuts on the chin of Ron but again did more dancing than boxing.

In the third round a body shot from Mason hurt Ron and followed with another one dropping Ron for an 8-count from referee Cole.

In the fourth round a flurry mostly to the body from Mason hurt Ron causing referee Cole to call a halt a minute into the round.

Super Feather southpaw Jalan “Sky” Walker, 12-1-1 (10), #131.2, of L.A., CA, was stopped by Alejandro “Pork Chop” Guerrero, 13-4 (10), #131.8, of Irving, TX, at 1:35 of the seventh round of a scheduled 8 rounds.

In the first round it was all the southpaw Walker. In the second round a leader right from Guerreo dropped Walker for an 8-count from Referee Lee Rogers, In the fourth round Guerrero had Walker pinned to the ropes for the most part.

In the sixth round a flurry from Walker had Guerrero on the ropes when an 8-count from referee Rodgers who ruled that should not have been a knockdown. In the seventh round Guerrero had Walker out on his feet when referee Rodgers stopped the fight.

Super Feather Charly “Kings’ Warrior” Suarez, 17-0 (9), #131.8, of Manila, PH, defeated Luis “Louie” Coria, 15-7 (7), #131.7, of Perris, CA, over 8 rounds.

In the first three round’s Coria used a jab while Suarez attacked taking the lead after three rounds.

In the fourth round Suarez continued to take Coria to school. In the fifth round Coria finally won a round out landing Suarez. In the seventh rounds final minute Coria hurt Suarez with a right uppercut on the chin but Suarez finished stronger.

In the eighth and final rounds halfway point a right from Juarez opened a cut on the left eyebrow of Coria. In the final seconds Coria landed a left to the chin driving Juarez onto the lower rope ruled a knockdown by referee Schorle.

Scores 77-74 twice, 77-75, 77-74 KH.

Welter southpaw John Rincon, 9-0 (2), #143 of Corpus Christie, TX, won a majority decision over Yainiel Alvarez, 3-4-2 (1), #143.5, of Ciego de Avila, CUB, over 6 rounds.

In the first two rounds it was all Alvarez. In the third round Alvarez’s showboating almost got him hurt with his hands up he got hit in the midsection by Rincon. Referee Lee Rogers has warned Alvarez on several occasions about fouling.

In the fifth round Alvarez continued fouling with his awkward style and possible not understanding the ref’s English not stopping when warned. In the sixth and final round Rincon rocked Alvarez a minute into the round with a left on the chin.

Scores 57-57, 58-56, 59-55, 58-56 KH.

Heavy Ali Felix, 1-0 (1), #219.1, of Danbury, CT, stopped southpaw Anthony Woodson lll, 1-2 (1), #280.3, of Gary, IND, at 1:16 of the second round of a scheduled 4 rounds.

In the second round Felix landed a right on the chin and down went Woodson and out.

Middle “King” Julian Delgado, 1-0 (0), #159.3, of Corpus Christi, defeated southpaw Juan C. Tamez, 1-1 (0), #159, of Laredo, TX, over 4 sloppy rounds.

The Referee was Laurence Cole.

In the first two rounds the awkward looking Delgado a local favorite and Tamez put on some sloppy fighting. In the next two rounds it was more of the same.

Scores 40-36 twice, 39-37 and 38-38 KH.
